Why are we just fighting in Pubs instead of taking part in this? If we're not participating in Eve events, what is the point in playing Dust?

How exactly were we going to effect this on the ground, when they were claiming the solar systems and stations. Don't say boarding ships and running in station. That is nothing we were told we would have for sure or anytime in the near future pretty much the only effect you are going to have in Eve right now is to change FW stats in Eve, by playing and winning for a certain faction.. It's not much, needs lot's of improving upon.. but there is an effect you have in eve

I used to play eve and all of that space wars politics stuff takes so damn long you practically have to sacrifice the majority of your life to play a serious part in the solar systems. People aren't kidding when they say it becomes a second job. tldr: Play DUST to do some local damage, it's what mercs do.

I would be (positively) shocked if we had eve ship boarding in a month.

I dont think that will happen anyday soon,bcause it would push the eve players away when they are losing their expensive ships to duster(beatiful to think that happening)maybe it happens when dust players has reached the allmost the same playerbase that eve has,and that wont be happening anyday soon until ccp repairs afk:ing game mechanics etc etc

The most concrete concept I've heard about so far for Dust involvement in sov war is for Dust mercs to disable the "cyno jammers" that prevent enemy capital ships jumping into a system. I'm sure CCP have other long term plans as well. My guess is that they'll tweak PC and Faction War in lowsec a bit and work on the new player experience in hisec before they get to nullsec though, so you're probably talking 2014 or later for nullsec stuff.

They can't mess with 0.0 EVE stuff too much and risk unbalancing things...it takes a TON of effort to build a proper 0.0 alliance, Dust shouldn't make all that work futile. Having said that, I hope eventually Dust players get to have a larger influence in 0.0 as well

Using Dust mercs won't be the only way to kill cyno jammers, but yes, I believe CCP are well aware that they need to be very careful when introducing meaningful Dust effects on the Eve side.

I'm pretty sure that not too many EVE want to have to rely on a dust player, now being influenced is different from relying. This seems like the combat testing part of the game not nessecarily anything near the finished product, I don't think that deployment into a battle will be the same in Dust. more than likely it will require the player to be moved by an EVE pilot (anywhere) or NPC(High-Sec only). still we aren't fighting because we're in high-sec right now.
