ive noticed alot of people blowing up unhacked turret installations, supply depos etc at the very beginning of games just to get the points from blowing them up i suggest making unhacked turrets, supply depos etc indestructable untill they are hacked by either team or giving the player no points for destroying them while unhacked. also i dont know if its just me but lately turret installations are seemingly alot more active while unmanned if thats good or bad i cant say |

Or just take them out of the game except as a call in item or we reward. Those silly derp ships have enough av to worry about, it's even worse when they literally can't fly anywhere without getting shot from every angle by free blaster turrets. Not to mention, when you hake and forget those turrets, they are a bad thing for friendly tanks. Let's take the bridge map for example: your team hacks the turret closest to the bridge, blue tank pushes to the bridge to keep the reds off of A. Enemy flanks and hacks turret and blows up the blue tank with it as it is hitting his week point.
This combined with how great they are against infantry is why when I'm messing around with my forge, I go turret hunting. Not for the points (that is just a bonus) but to keep my team safe from them. Your welcome. |

Turrets better be cheap if you have to call them in. They go down in two hits. I think they are made of paper m+óch+¬. |

Not so if there is a dedicated repair tool on it I would assume they would have high and low slots to make them stronger and shoot harder. Plus I have purposely ripped this back to health when they are in a strategic fighting zone. |

You can't use it and repair it at the same time. |

Vehicle operators kill them for security, not points. A supply depot represents a chance for an enemy to switch to a forge gun or swarm fit, and friendly turret that gets hacked while you're paying attention to something else will quickly dispatch you. Installations are worth more dead than even the slight possibility that they may turn on you. We don't care about 100 WP, we care about not losing 1M ISK. |

many of you are making good points i do think that as they are now the turrets are kinda overpowered but it is a bit annoying for me to see them destroyed before being put to any use the turrets are ment to be there and they do play a role but as of right now i think theyer playing too big a role with how powerfull they can be sometimes it seemes even while unmanned i think they need to reduce the power and activity of them also they may be purchable in the future i believe there used to be an option on market to buy installations but the option had "no data" at the time and they eventually took the option off but they may add it back |

We should be able to kill whatever we want whenever we want. Unhacked turrets become liabilities. |

They need to be removed for vehicles to play safely, and they are easy points.
I want to drop my own turrets asap. It will radically change the flow of battle, and bring in a bit more sandbox. I can see it now, ambush oms. Squad rally's on a SI and spawn in several decked out blaster turrets a CRU and supply depot. Come at us bro. |

IDK about why the AV guys do it, but from a pilot's perspective, Those things are dangerous. We don't like them being anywhere near us, and if they are there, there's a chance (unless it's a stomping) that it can be hacked. I need escape routes, and a lot of them, so I make sure I can have all of them. That means clearing out all the people and installations that I see on the way to my defense point.

Just remove turrets from the game. I can see no gameplay advantage to them.
Yes, I use them to destroy vehicles and kill infantry, but it'd be much for fun if I did it by foot, both for me and the guy getting shot at.
Removing turrets in a few bullet points: - Better core gameplay for all involved players! - Less issues to consider when changing things! This equals quicker development of future content! - Better performance due to less static and dynamic objects! - Less effort in balancing!
CCP, do it. Now! |
