The changes to the Amarr Logi are great, but as someone who chose the Amarr Assault over the Amarr Logi I am a bit concerned. Let's look at the stats.
Standard: Logi / Assault Light Weapons: 1/1 Sidearms: 1/1 Highs: 2/2 Lows: 2/1 Equipment: 2/1 PG: 36/35 CPU: 195/175 Armor: 180/180 Shield: 120/180 Conclusion: Standard logi gives up 60 shield in exchange for 1 extra low, 1 extra equipment, 1 extra PG, and 20 extra CPU.
Advanced: Logi / Assault Light Weapons: 1/1 Sidearms: 1/1 Highs: 3/2 Lows: 3/2 Equipment: 3/1 PG: 49/49 CPU: 273/245 Armor: 180/180 Shield: 120/180 Conclusion: Advanced logi gives up 60 shield in exchange for 1 extra high, 1 extra low, 2 extra equipment, and 28 extra CPU.
Prototype: Logi / Assault Light Weapons: 1/1 Sidearms: 1/1 Highs: 3/3 Lows: 4/3 Equipment: 3/1 PG: 69/70 CPU: 390/350 Armor: 180/180 Shield: 120/180 Conclusion: Prototype logi gives up 60 shield and 1 PG in exchange for 1 extra low, 2 extra equipment, and 40 extra CPU.
The trade-off is ridiculously imbalanced. Sure you can argue the bonuses, but the Assault's reduction to heat build up is only really important if you are using a laser rifle - even if you are using a scrambler rifle it will only allow you 3 or 4 extra shots, plus shield regen isn't that useful if you aren't going to shield tank. In contrast, logistics gets 5 hp/s armor repair plus a bonus to armor repair modules, which is much better than the assault's bonus.
Only reason I skilled into Assaults instead of Logi was because I wasn't planning on going prototype anytime soon and I need the sidearm. But now? I am NOT asking for a respec, I am asking that you address the assault class. |

The Laser Rifle bonus is massive, that extra firing time is while the beam is heated up and in full death ray mode. Once the ADS and the hefty penalty to tracking speed are addressed AmAs LRs should be deadly.
If you're not using LRs then yeah, ain't too much in it apart from the higher than standard fitting for Basics/Assaults.
Are they the same speed? Usually Logi is slower, sure you're not overlooking that? |

Are they the same speed? Usually Logi is slower, sure you're not overlooking that? The LR is already deadly, you can easily see your target through the sights and when you are using it at the proper distance no one is able to outrun even your slower tracking speed. But as I stated, the bonus is only good if you are using the LR and why have a bonus that only has a decent bonus if using a specific weapon?
And yeah the logi is a bit slower. So it trades 60 shield and a little speed for all the extra highs/lows, CPU, and equipment. Still not a fair trade. |

Now, the Assault could probably also use a buff, since it was the second worst suit before, seriously, it's like CCP hates the Amarr. |

Amarr Assault is still fine. You use it for the heat reduction bonus. Amarr Logi is now how's supposed to be. One more slot was needed because logi suits always have more slots than assault suit. If you aren't using a weapon that has heat build up then there's no reason to use Amarr Assault. |

I think thats the direction CCP wants to go with racials. Gallente get PG/CPU reduction on hybrid weaponry (gallente weapons are hybrid), amarr get bonuses to lazor weaponry (amarr are laser based weapons). Minmatar dont have their weapons yet and caldari got the cast off shield extender buff that everyone hated. Both seem more like placeholders for when they release racial variants. |

I use the imperial scrambler rifle, heat reduction lets me get off 4 or 5 more shots if i'm spamming close range, thats 80x5=400dmg more potentially. Not counting my proficiency or dmg mod. Helps with charge shots too. |

The new aim mechanics really do exemplify the amarr assault's lack of speed, so tanking the amarr suit is a good idea.
You get a grand total of:
443Shields 670 Armor
so a little over 1100 hp for a fully tanked proto amarr assault. Their shields imo are still subpar for it's prototype class. A toxin Caldari assault suit can easily tank 400 shields and use basic plates to allow for armor and a decent weapon, allowing them to effectively fight an amarr proto especially if the amarr isn't tanking armor. I find that a bit wack at times. Standard amarr suits arent anywhere near as efficient as the caldari blueprints.
If the amarr assault suit could use one little eensy weensy buff. Id say that it should have a lower profile to compensate for it's huge hitbox. That way i dont need to use all my low powered slots on damn Profile Dampeners, which by the way should be selling like hotcakes this season. |

Well , depends. You are overlooking lots of stuff here. I use both LOGI and Assault (ASCR logi / SCR + Laser Assault)
The assault also has more shield regenerate rate. Has SCOUT level STAMINA. Amarr assaults are NOT good amror tankers as the logi, but htey are GREAT dual tankers. I use 2 Cx Shield Ext + 1 Cx Dam Mod/ 2 pataes and repair module. I run around 361 shields (i call it sniper shell) that regenerates at a minimum of 20 per sec PLUS 458 armor, for a total of 819, decent movement,speed, lots of stamina...overall a great assault.
I mean, i sure as hell wouldnt mind a buff to the amarr assault, but i do think its ok right now... |

Heat Sinks built in allowing for better DPS from Amarrian weaponry, the only really useful Racial Amarrian Skill in keeping with their combat style.
Logi's are good, they allow for High total EHP, but suffer from comparably low sustained DPS compared to the Amarr Assault Suit.
Assaults are better, they have the lower EHP, but do gain the added benefits of having a much greater sustained DPS, especially coupled with the Amarrian weapons, which if you aren't using with this suit.... well you're doing something wrong.
**** didn't realise this was necroed, but even in terms of the current builds Logi VS Assault for the Amarr the precedent still stands. |

Ive used my Imperial in other suits and while it drops people really well it felt completely off, those 4-5 shots makes the difference of cleaning up a whole squad in one go or having to take an overheat pause inbetween. |

Damn don't I know it, fitting the laser is insanely good with the Assault Suit. I can rack up kills from superior range, and lay down to amazing suppressive fire.
Its a terrifying thing to see beams of light cutting the air. |
