Dust isn't finished it doesn't need to be on a new console competing with finished games in its infantile state it needs a place to grow and become strong let the fanboys do testing and balencing for CCP and then the rest of the community can get a good game to play and enjoy.

If they could pull a core gear and vehicles in before the 4 drops then it would be OK. As it is now I have to agree that launch isn't wise. |

I'm too lazy to look it up, but there was a topic during E3 talking about Dust being on the PS4 where IWS seemed to be trying to say something without outright saying it, most likely due to NDA restrictions. One thing that stuck out was that he outright said that Dust won't be on the Unreal engine if it moves to PS4. |

It has been confirmed several times that CCP has their own engine called Carbon. Supposedly, it is going to be a lot better than Unreal. The PS3 can't take Carbon without blowing up, and even Eve is supposed to be on Carbon. Going to carbon is the best move for dust. |

I imagine there will be a transition period where the core game is on PS3 and a new beta is on the PS4 and eventually the game in its entirety will be moved to the PS4, but it won't be soon. |

And what kind of game is it trying to be because Im sure I could find a game using U3 thats an example of that type of game since it gets licensed out so often and what exactly does the Carbon engine do thats so special that they cant make a good product without it aside from it being their most familiar tool |

It is a widely accepted that PS3 is difficult to develop for so I dont understand why you would stay with it and continue to kill yourself when a better platform will be out in a couple months. Especially with our paltry numbers I would think its just best to blow it up and move.
That is all going on the assumption that they are still messing with Carbon or another engine for the PS4 which would make everything easier.
Also - Fox Engine was developed by people that probably code PS3 better than Sony themselves so you cant really blame others who struggle on available engines. |

CCP games are always in beta. As goes EVE, so goes DUST.
It has already been released to "the community". The community gave a collective "meh" and moved on.
Only the fanbois remain.
CCP should reintroduce the game on the PC after it is made into a good game (not likely with CCP) and it should be renamed as an EVE expansion patch.

This is something I keep putting some thought into although my idea is a bit more of the wall and will cause controversy.
Maybe they should release it on PC
There I said it. Let's be honest the numbers are what 4k people hanging in there with dust. A big percentage of the people that have left, have done for good. CCP need more people spending money to resource up.
I don't believe that can happen in our current player base state.
We all want fixes, game variety and balancing but I think we all agree this is taking to long and will continue to take too long even with monthly iterations. Few people can still only put in few things.
We need mass development to enable this game to become what CCP originally envisaged.
Let's be honest there are more fps players in here than EvE players and whilst the later is those of us who are used to playing EvE for a very long time and CCP's constant tweaking EvE back in the day had a lot more to do and we were happy paying to get the developments.
They have been put back more than they could appreciate losing 'carbon' and getting on board with a paid for engine. This game as it currently stands is about a year behind where it should be.
We including CCP all have our thoughts on the future with other games on the horizon, ps4 etc. and I really can't see anything positive in this regard for Dust514 |

That would have been great for us but I understand why CCP wouldnt want that.
Imagine if they went back to MS and stuck everything in Azure but once again CCP wouldnt do that because MS would mess with their payment structure and most likely also mess with EVE-Dust interaction , or even allow it at all.
I understood the goal of being on PS3 for years but as it stands it just seems like death of a thousand cuts when a better solution is screaming to be used. Sony allowed F2P games to be outside the paywall, the architecture is the closest to PC of any console generation, the console has massive resources and your dedicated fanbase will follow you no matter what, plus you can reintroduce yourself to a wider audience.
I would shoot for sometime next year, possibly summer with a slew of new content.
Once again - going on the assumption that they have PS4 dev kits or at least running the game under a similar environment |

The game looks nothing like this except for the warbarge room.
If that isnt just fluff cgi tricks then something like that should drop on PS4 / PC in the near future.

First trailer was live gameplay, second was cinematic, but there's a trailer with gameplay, but can't find it. The point is that we're supposed to have more interaction with EVE than we do now, ranging from ships fighting in low orbit, pilotable MCCs, fighting in space, boarding titans, and even fighting over wreckage of ships that crashed to sell the salvage back to EVE corps. None of which will ever be possible with the U3's limitations.
