I'm too lazy to look it up, but there was a topic during E3 talking about Dust being on the PS4 where IWS seemed to be trying to say something without outright saying it, most likely due to NDA restrictions. One thing that stuck out was that he outright said that Dust won't be on the Unreal engine if it moves to PS4. |

Dust 514 is still in beta until it moves to the PS4. Don't believe anything different and it'll preserve your sanity. |

Supposedly, it is going to be a lot better than Unreal. The PS3 can't take Carbon without blowing up, and even Eve is supposed to be on Carbon. Going to carbon is the best move for dust. Sounds like **** poor programming to me if they cant make it work Hell, the FOX engine can run on these 7th gen consoles without blowing them up When a game requires military grade hardware just to maintain a server, you have to make some sacrifices along the way to stay on schedule. It's pretty obvious that U3 was a last minute change and doesn't function for the kind of game Dust is trying to be. On paper, the PS4 specs look like they can accommodate a demanding engine like Carbon, so it's only a matter of time to see what CCP comes up with. |

Especially with our paltry numbers I would think its just best to blow it up and move.
That is all going on the assumption that they are still messing with Carbon or another engine for the PS4 which would make everything easier.
Also - Fox Engine was developed by people that probably code PS3 better than Sony themselves so you cant really blame others who struggle on available engines. I've been following Dust since 2009 and the one thing I remember is that they approached Microsoft first. The deal breaker is that they wanted the game to run on their servers. That's why it's on the PS3. |

So in defense of Dust you link me to cinematic trailers that could come from almost literally any FPS? First trailer was live gameplay, second was cinematic, but there's a trailer with gameplay, but can't find it. The point is that we're supposed to have more interaction with EVE than we do now, ranging from ships fighting in low orbit, pilotable MCCs, fighting in space, boarding titans, and even fighting over wreckage of ships that crashed to sell the salvage back to EVE corps. None of which will ever be possible with the U3's limitations.
