This is from a dropship pilots perspective. Forge gunner are worse then snipers in my opinion. You can sneak up on a sniper and kill him, but you can't with a FG. They see you coming miles away but you can't see them. Not to mention how irritating it is to kill a FG in heavy armor, it takes to much time to get a beed on the gunner. In that time swarm launchers have been fired and the gunner has gotten a hit off on you. Also, the FG can **** up ur shot and destabilize you.
I'm not here to rant. My way of making things far is this. If you want to use a forge gun fine but either that things charge up glow needs to be seen from space or a big bright forge roand like a lingering aura needs to be seen to tracker the forge gunner down.
You don't have to nerf the gun or buff it just add that.
Crist, I fear for jets if we are still dealing with this. |

I, as a heavy, don't think the issue is the forge gun, rather on the dropship.
IMO the forge gun puts out a fair amount of damage but dropships need more room for getting better similarly to how tanks do.
I would like to see the dropships be able to take at least 6-10 shots of an Ishukone Assault Forge Gun with damage mods at least on a really well fitted advanced/proto level dropship. In that time the pilot has time to pop his reppers and get the hell out of there.
It would be a more fun experience for both people as it would take team coordination to take out a dropship not just one heavy laying down a few good shots while also giving the pilot a chance. |

Dropships, like scout suits, should never be used as a standard cause they are crap. balancing based on DSs would therefore render this game crap...pier |

Give the DS a big hp/resist buff so that it can tank similar to a LLAV. They can take a few hits, but you're not really going to killing much with small turrets unless you stand still, in which case, poof |

Also, tower sniping is sooooo effective again, why the forge has huge splash is beyond me but hey, when in Rome....

Dropships are just very weak, I've surprisingly been gunned down by a guy with a toxin sub machinegun while in a heavy suit. |

dropships simply need a built in resistance to forgeguns, but an increased knockback. Since they are hanging in the air, it makes sense that some of the kinetic energy would be absorbed in the form of displacement. |

Which can f u up if u have ur sights on a FG and he shoots u. No other weapon does that to any other vehicle. Also DS don't need a buff nor do FGs need a nerf. All I proposed was away to hadle FGs. The way things stand they can shot and it takes 5 or so near hits for a pilot or anyone to tell we're it came from, and its different from a sniper. A sniper you can track down and bob and weave behind cover and sometimes you can see them. But an FG is hard to spot and is irittating to take down.
The way I see it, if FGs can take down dropships in one shot they should show up one rader, you could say that the charge up affect puts out a lot of unusual magnitational compression that dropships can detract.
If that's not ur fancy then just make it so when a FG shots a round the round leaves a lingering aura trail from where the shot was fired. All the other guns have a similar function, if a sniper shots to much the lingering tail of his shot can show where he is. fG don't have this problem because their round go by in less then half a second and don't leave a trail. |

This. Eliminating the charge up flashlight really was a buff to forges. They snipe without being easily pinpointed and everyone has resorted to tower forge sniping.
The charge up should have been dulled as it was bright as a sun but should not have been eliminated. Besides this there is nothing wrong with forge guns.

Only thing bad about Forge Guns in the range. If they weren't so effective I'd complain about it but I can live it. I shed a small tear whenever a DS gets called in though, just for the pilot before I blast them out of the sky. I'm just saying I feel for them because Derpships are a bad joke honestly. I'm still going to kill the the **** out of it, but I do sympathize a bit. |

I think the charging time is fine, but a nice, obvious projectile and trail would be really nice to at least let you know where you got shot from. It's not like you can use a Forge Gun stealthily anyway. |

I still think they're too accurate vs infantry. I think just lowering the splash radius a tad would help a lot. If you're scoring direct or damn near direct hits from pretty much anywhere, you're doing alright. The blast radius makes it pretty easy, at least for me.
I get great lulz from this, and when that happens, I usually know something is up.
Running people over in my free LAV with a militia fit gives me great lulz....sooo.....
