I did a little experiment over a few battles today and yesterday.

I would use only free fits in instant battles. Skinweave, free LAVs, starter fits.
Since my fits were free, I would completely throw caution to the wind; since I was doing instant battles, I didn't try to help my team win, and did whatever was easy for WP at the time.

It went extremely well. I finished between 800 and 1200 WP almost every battle, and always got over 200,000 ISK of pure profit. My KDR was terrible, but it doesn't matter because I didn't lose anything.
I just went lolmode and charged in while throwing grenades and spraying with my exile AR and toxin SMG. If someone was downed, I would sprint through dangerous areas to revive them for the 60 WP, even though I knew I would die.

What I learned is that you shouldn't bother wasting ISK (especially not AUR BPCs) on instant battles. Save it for when it matters.

Aye, AUR BPCs in pubs seems a bit silly. Fused Locus is the main one seen. Pissing away real money like that just seems wasteful though if they're having fun with it I guess that's what matters, the other issues of contact explosives aside.

Tangentially related, I see they've pulled the 'Abyss' Drop Uplink from the market. AUR item, was -90% spawn time, 25 or so uses and self-destructs if the one who dropped it dies. Seems like it was designed precisely for swarming with cheaper fits to overwhelm. The concept behind it struck me as being pretty cool.

Are you saying I should just fit two Toxin's on my Dragonfly and burn clone?
