I just did a ping to the "Tranquility Cluster" and it was ~220 constantly.
What's your ping? |

Ping time to TQ isn't that important really, unless you specifically care how fast your inventory updates.
What is your ping time to your regional Dust battle server? |

Your ping to Tranquillity is only relevant for all the things that are not moving + shooting, basically a lot of the stuff that is not latency sensitive like changing your fittings or purchasing from the market. We have battle servers located around the world and try to optimize the placement of players on each to give you the lowest latency while in battle.
You can test your ping to each of the regions with these IPs:
Europe: 5.10.86.104 US: 50.97.153.36 Asia: 216.185.108.171 Australia: 27.50.71.26

And, for the record, my times are...
Europe: 33.5ms US: 133ms Asia: 337ms Australia: 331ms TQ: 18ms
Its a little sad to see the non-time sensitive TQ ping being half my local battleserver ping, but them's the breaks.

Evelopedia
Evelopedia might be able to help you, you just need to search for "CMD" in your computer... then you just have to put (ofcourse change the 0's with the below IPs"
"ping 0.0.0.0"

To be clear for some people reading this and not sure what it means, these numbers are relative to where you are. The AU servers are obviously very good for people in AU. |

123 with EU should be fine as well, a lot of people play cross region with around this ping without issue. |

If you live in the United states your ping will be best there.
Ping is how fast you "ping" from your IP to there IP. I'm canadian so if i want to ping to Europe or Mexico places like that it's gonna be high around 300MS But if i pinged to some place in Canada it would be around 15-60MS. |

I guess I keep ending up in US servers which causes all the network lag I get, as most players are US I assume. |

123 is pushing it and in close quarters combat a 100 ping difference would quickly show. For example a knife hit i always get in US servers i may have to be closer in a EU server to account for the lag. Now 123 is definitely playable but it is still an annoyance |

Anything but the Australian and American servers are an absolute nightmare for me, but in response to this comment:

Probably due to any anti-latency measures in place by CCP, 123 would be barely noticeable. When I play on the US servers I notice a small amount of lag with ~230 ms.... I daresay if this figure was closer to 175 it would be more marginally relevant. Having said all of this, these are average figures which are somewhat irrelevant. The instantaneous figure is what will cause frustration... and sometimes it's much better and sometimes much worse. |
