I know they feel OP and I know that many will continue to complain.
But his morning I went one on one with a md/flaylock in Oceana server. When the timer ran out I was 11 and 8. In my assault suit. He taught me very quickly how to retreat and I waited for his reload. Most weapons will take any suit out in 4 seconds if you shoot straight.
So complain if you like by all means.

Mass Drivers are fine but flaylocks are OP. The flaylock would be fine if the splash damage was reduced or its mag size was reduced to 1 instead of 3.

Like i said.. you haven't. Only thing to do when you come across one of that Squads, is run to a hill and wait for the storm to go by. Maybe individually you can deal with it.. but a full Proto Squad with that things ... not chance. |

Faced md and flaylock multiple times like everyone else. In squad and solo. It was nice to have the one on to make a comparison instead of jumping to the conclusion that they are OP. A squad of any single weapon will quickly make it OP.

A handgun should never be more powerful than a Plasma Cannon or a Heavy weapon... so YES they are OP. Cheap to use, low CPU / GP cost ... sorry mate.. that things are OP. |

@grimmarch
So many variables that are left out in this argument. The fittings both you were using, the relative skill of both players, the specific map. I mean come on man! How does a weapon "feel OP" without 'being' OP??? That's a contradiction in itself. ugh.... GG son, hardly anyone who responds is gonna agree with you on this post. And before you go "well that wasn't helpful" ill explain why its OP.
This gun 2-3 shots almost every suit in game with the exception of heavy suits and some proto suits if they have about 700+ HP which is absurd in itself. The problem is that its splash damage is just TOO high. It does more splash damage then most if not all missile turrets and mass drivers. Guns that are, like the flaylock, specifically meant for explosions, but despite being More then twice the size does half as much damage. Reduce the splash damage to 100 HP or 150 HP and boom! the problems fixed! you still have a gun that can do great damage if you land the shots, and can still work decent against armor if you don't land the shots.
Solution 2: Make it so that instead of a three round clip it has a 1 or 2 round clip. Standard FP: 150 damage 1 round clip Advanced FP: 200 damage 1 round clip Proto FP: 225 damage 2 round clip (coupled with proficiency can bring it up to some good damage making the proto version worth while)
That's all it needs..... nothing crazy just nerfs to either clip size, or splash damage. Splash damage is the easiest fix of the two, but its tricky cuz it could break the gun. Clip size, in my opinion would be best for it because it alters the way you as the user has to play with it. |

MDs are find, definitely.
Flaylocks need a lower Splash Radius, if somone kills me with a Breach Flaylock, or normal Flaylock, they deserve the kill, if someone kills me with a Core, its just like killing me with a Fused, you deserve a smack across the face.

ALL missiles. Proto Missile Launcher (Large) does 104 x 4. Flaylock does 214.5 x 3 and has 0.5m less splash radius.

OP your findings are awesome, now do the same against 8 of them at once... I was just playing my alt, >3 million SP, and the amount of damage they do to the lesser equipped is dumb as ****.
CCP shouldn't be looking to nerf the flaylock, they need to release a statement reading: Dear players, We have very little knowledge about tactical FPS, we also have very little knowledge about competitive FPS, the flaylock was a terrible idea, that was poorly executed. As a result of our playbases skill levels dropping severly, we have been forced to remove the weapon. This will upset A LOT of players who rely on pack spamming these weapons, our only advice would be to aim straight. Thank you for your understanding. CCP Special Ed. dept |

Pssh, Wolfman and Remnant work on the weapons and they dont really communicate with one another - as experienced by Wolfman stating Mass Drivers were not changed (proven wrong and CCP Remnant later apologized) and that Strafe Speeds were not changed (telll that to the heavies who strafe faster than they walk). |

The MD was OP in chromo, it was nerfed in uprising (I say nerf and not balanced because the hit detection took a kick to the sack) and now that said problem seems to be fixed it seems OP again.
Personally I don't think the MD is overpowered, certainly a noobish weapon (as any is that works with AoE) but not overpowered. The problem with MDs is that when you have some intelligent people working together, say 2-3 skilled players with MDs, they ARE going to introduce you to the pleasures of anal ****, time and time again.
As for Flaylocks, lol, not even getting infinite orbital strikes would be as broekn as that damn weapon. The splash damage needs to go, like completely, either that it needs as SERIOUSLY massive reduction to its shield damage. |

It's hurting the game, **** the pixels, try being a newer player, then quickly realizing this game does not come down to skill, it comes down to spamming weapons that require nothing but a close shot.

A new player using INFERIOR fittings SHOULD be easier to kill with a PROTO weapon. You can't just balance proto weapons based on stats of non-proto and noob suits. Otherwise there would be ZERO incentive to use a proto gun in the first place.
