Ran into someone the other day who, twice, just stood still and hammered me while I strafed and fired on them (both of us with GEK's). Quite annoying - want to know their characters skill levels, at that point.
i think the straifing thing possably only works with a slightly looser spread and aim assist with 60+ in clip to send enough lead down field to tag hits.
as for me i prefer to do the old CS staple of slide to the left then shoot then slide to the right then shoot. (shooting portion denotes being stood still for a portion of time)

If you're running solo, you should always use an active scanner as your piece of equipment. Preferably the advanced A-45 Quantum scanner. |

Nanite Injectors work like a radar highlight to show you were someone in your team has died within 38m. It can help you find an enemy beyond your radar.
Keep moving. You stand still for two seconds and you will find the enemy sniper. Just not in a productive manner.
Equipment is a force multiplier some for you, some for your squad some for your team.
REs are like grenades on steriods. Drop them on a corner, sneak around, engage enemy and when you retreat and they chase watch the rag doll physics.
Turrent - the sound a tankers pants makes when he finds out the four swarm militia doing squats around him aren't AFK.

Focus on Shield/Armor skills rather than weapon skills. Also try to turtle an objective that you have hold, you can always use a turrent to thin the enemy forces or scare/destroy HAVS,LAVs, dropships or other enemy installations. When I ever go solo on skirmish I stay on an objective, place uplinks on clever places, and hide or control a turrent.il In domination I rush to the area of the objective, but instead of hacking I place uplinks from different directions and find cover to give supporting fire. In ambush, well let's just not join until you reach like 5 mil sp.

10. Scanners are your friend. Scanners will tell you where your enemies are, their number, and which way they are facing-- critical to engagements, and even moreso for rookies. Even the standard one picks up the majority of medium suits and all heavy suits and vehicles. Learn to use them (or squad with someone who religiously uses one). Your K:D will thank you. |

While in a MLT light frame I sacrificed myself so my team could get rid of 3 tanks which were pinning us down. We then called in our own tanks and pushed back with a vengeance!
Yea, don't be afraid to run away but there are times were you have to know when to just be reckless(I had no tank mods and no AV yet I had those tanks (and there infantry support) on edge) in the name of victory!

If you don't have a mic I recommend getting one. It makes the game so much more fun when you can talk with other members of your squad and sort out tactics. It also means that even if you don't feel ready to take the enemy head on you can always scout around and call out enemy positions for your squad.

+1
Can't recommend this enough. It significantly helps with teamwork.
If you don't have a mic, ensure that you have 'voice enabled' on the chat channel. You'll be able to follow the squad leader's orders. Even if you can't speak to your squad, your more likely to stay with the squad after the battle
Talking of squad leader, if you find yourself as squad leader, don't forget to use squad orders for bonus WP.
Hope this help! |
