I rarely die by LAV drivers. It's too easy to sidestep, and predict where they're driving. You have the upper hand because you have the ability to change direction last minute; they, however, can't turn on a dime so quickly.
As I stated in the title, the majority of LAV deaths are from people who already suck at maneuvering. Not only do you guys consistently get run over, but you also move straight toward your targets, stand still while shooting, etc etc.
Please, just for the sake of ending the whining, learn how to strafe/maneuver properly.
I do support a LAV nerf (make them cost isk like the other militia equipment), but I don't think the uproar is so deserved. At first the LAVs were annoying, but I and others learned how to adapt and are now acrobatic gymnasts who hop across the field.

That is a very narrow minded view. Anyone can die from a LAV - it only takes a second for one to come around a corner and mow you down while you're trying to avoid being shot by someone.
Also heavies (and armor tanking assaults) don't have the sort of maneuverability to just 'sidestep' out of the way of LAVs, which can by the way be extremely fast. |

Here is a simple list of rules to help you not get hit by an LAV. I found them on a kids safety site.
Excerpt "Each year, children are injured and killed by cars. Kids can be hit by cars when crossing the street, while playing in the road or when riding bicycles. Make sure that your children are as safe as possible by showing them ways to avoid dangers on the streets."

When was the last time you played? After 1.2 I have been hit because they miss me and immediately reverse and back over me. I have also danced in the open field with LAVs trying to make my way back to an elevated surface. It typically ends in either: 1) I get shot by another ground fighter 2) They CAN turn on a dime and I run out of stamina.
Here me out for a second(*cough* ccp *cough*) there is a serious f***ing problem when a game starts with 5 people calling in LAVs for the sole purpose of running people over. I have left games because it takes away from the nature of DUST514, A FRIKIN FIRST PERSON SHOOTER, not Grand Theft Auto or Grand Tourismo. If you want to get your kills primarily from LAV impacts go f***ing play one of the mentioned two.
I play this game to pit my shoot/maneuver skills with those in front of me. When I have to jump around dodging dickheads(who obviously suck at FPS) in LAV's while shooting at other ground troops, it removes the reason I play this game. I can understand one guy trying to change the direction of the game. I actually sometimes enjoy the added challenge. But when 4 LAV's are buzzing in and out killing everybody on my team, that is ******* stupid.
Two possible solutions: 1) Make the impact mechanics of enemy LAV's like friendly. They push the player. 2) Preferred: Do not take a clone from impacts and give 0 WP to the driver for the kill.
End of story and f*** you if you play this game only by running people over. Oh, Core Flaylock Pistole abusers can walk off a cliff as well. |

Ever since I switched to logi suits I don't mind LAVs any longer. I just drop my drop link and keep on chucking proto AV nades at them from a place they can't reach
But yeah, I agree, if you keep your eyes open and have decent situational awareness, you should almost always be able to dodge them.
To those complaining about 5 LAVs:
That's 5 guys not really contributing to capturing points for their team. How about you take 5 of your guys and jump into Militia (yes, Militia) forge gunner suits? Focus fire and even the best LLAV will end up in a molten block of iron after a single salvo. |

I mean what are you supposed to do against an invincible Charybdis?
I just had a match this morning where this Charybdis just ran circles around me trying to run me over. I had 2 complex kin cats so it was fairly easy to dodge. I threw 5 EX-0 av nades at him while he tried 3-4 times to run me over. Those 5 nades all hit... and I was able to get him down to 50% shields at which point he just drove off in search of easier prey... probably activating a militia booster and getting his shields back before he even came across the next poor sap.
Seriously... is that intended balance? |

What about anyone who bought a 50$+ DLC and now has a BPO?
Can't really nerf that .
A charbalis or whatever is 84000 isk no mods, I think avg would be 200K fitted so close to a basic price of A HAV ....
How much do you want them to cost??
I just have to laugh at how weak you all seem crying on the forums about the game . You died cause your a nub or your dumb and got outsmarted , or were too stupid to change tactics or suits. This game isn't hard you just lack FPS skill .
You're not special , I know mommy said you were but your not . There's always gonna be someone bigger ,stronger ,better than you .
Get your weight up not your hate up .
I'd say the devs should stop listening to the community .
Best way to kill a game .... Is listen to the forum heads, and it looks like CCP is well on the way to driving anyone who might grab this beta ( it's a beta, I don't care what anyone says we're all just testing for the real ps4 release) away .

Shadowswipe wrote:Here is a simple list of rules to help you not get hit by an LAV. I found them on a kids safety site. Excerpt "Each year, children are injured and killed by cars. Make sure that your children are as safe as possible by showing them ways to avoid dangers on the streets." Source: http://www.ehow.com/how_4923528_teach-children-road-safety-rules.htmlI don't understand how people get ran over when we are taught to look Left, Right, then Left again...
But city streets aren't NASCAR tracks.
Or demolition derby tracks.
Or off-roading areas in open spaces.
At least in those places you can get hurt if your vehicle hits something or flips over. Not so much in DUST.
In those places it can take ten minutes to half an hour to flip vehicles over or scrape them off the track. Not so much in DUST.
I don't mind getting run over if I am not careful but LAVs shouldn't violate the laws of newtonian physics.

Lol I first say that MLT lav's should be nerfed by having an isk value added, and then you go off on a rant just because you spent $50

Posting in accidental troll thread, but here goes:
LAV's should recieve similar hp value damage to that delivered upon impact, as well as feel a corresponding inertial response.
Newton's 3rd law: ....a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction....
In other news, I Finally took a non-fatal hit from an LAV the other day. Just wish it were more consistent with slow-speed hits being non-fatal, and high speed hits delivering more damage to the LAV..... ESPECIALLY in the case of heavily armored heavies!! (Should also seriously slow them down more, and little scouts get rofl plowed thru.. (don't worry I <3 u scout bros)) |

Dr Allopathy wrote:I rarely die by LAV drivers.
