It's probably not news to some of you on these forums, but not too long ago at all the first ever Revenant was destroyed in a massive EVE battle, that's the largest amount of ISK lost in a single kill in all of Eve's history. The ship costs over 300,000,000,000 ISK alone which if you were to convert that into US currency it would total over $9000.00 So keep in mind all you dust bunnies, while we may at times have a pretty lousy time with the imbalances on this game, just be happy you didn't lose 300 Billion ISK in a single battle.

I think that the freighter carrying literally dozens of t2 bpos is still the largest loss period, I'd call this a close second though. |

Omfg the more i listen to this the more awesome i realize these people are. Totally sweating off the 300 Bil and are actually "giddy" because they just set a record loss in Eve lmfao, these guys are great. Well, except the commander who is extremely pissed but that's because it was his.. lol |

Basically a good portion of his squad left into the gate to go hunt down a portion of the enemy, and when they left he got totally ganked by a huge group and got annihilated, and he's venting his rage out on the guys who left him. |

I don't know what is more sad: that guy getting so enraged by a video game, or that you all think it's funny that guy lost, as IWS said, 16 years worth of his life.
And yes, I am implying that some EvE players make the game just as important, maybe even more important in some cases, as their real life. |

Well there's multiple ways to look at this, personally i am totally uplifted by this because even in the loss of 300 billion, all of these guys are still lighthearted and carrying on, like a true videogamer should. That commander has the right to be super pissed though, videogame or not. And it wasn't really 16 years of his life so much as it was 10 of his corp's life |

Long story short in Dust 514 terms.
Guy starts a Squad of the most badass elite armed tank pilots including an ultra rare tank.
The tank squadron got ambushed by 16 Forge Gunners that planned the whole thing for months when they baited the squad into a PC battle with a bait of appearing to be an easy target.
Tank Squadron gets pwned due to lack of coordination, lack of leadership, getting countered by a special task force designed to destroy the squadron and despite calling for help and late joiners they were unable to most of them.
Alliance Top level leadership gets a letter from the newsies that his corp just lost the most expensive tank outfit ever and he is very pissed and is making it clear that he isn't going to reimburse the guy and wants him fired because he soiled the image and reputation of the alliance and corporations.
Or something like that.
Pandemic Legion is the premiere Capital Ship interceptor group. Basically any capital ship their nets find by its lonesome with no help in any notable range will hope in a task force large enough to wipe it out near instantly and leave. Super capital ships are particularly expensive in New Eden, its probably worth about 3 planets of effort here on Dust 514. |
