It's probably not news to some of you on these forums, but not too long ago at all the first ever Revenant was destroyed in a massive EVE battle, that's the largest amount of ISK lost in a single kill in all of Eve's history. The ship costs over 300,000,000,000 ISK alone which if you were to convert that into US currency it would total over $9000.00 So keep in mind all you dust bunnies, while we may at times have a pretty lousy time with the imbalances on this game, just be happy you didn't lose 300 Billion ISK in a single battle.
Listen to the commander rage about it for 23 minuteshere
Check out the Evekill data for that 1 ship alone righthere |

Omfg the more i listen to this the more awesome i realize these people are. Totally sweating off the 300 Bil and are actually "giddy" because they just set a record loss in Eve lmfao, these guys are great. Well, except the commander who is extremely pissed but that's because it was his.. lol |

Logi Bro wrote:I don't know what is more sad: that guy getting so enraged by a video game, or that you all think it's funny that guy lost, as IWS said, 16 years worth of his life.
And yes, I am implying that some EvE players make the game just as important, maybe even more important in some cases, as their real life. Well there's multiple ways to look at this, personally i am totally uplifted by this because even in the loss of 300 billion, all of these guys are still lighthearted and carrying on, like a true videogamer should. That commander has the right to be super pissed though, videogame or not. And it wasn't really 16 years of his life so much as it was 10 of his corp's life |

I thought the guy who said "I feel kinda giddy, because we lost the most money in supers" was pretty much the highlight of the recording. I mean, that's the best attempt at looking at the glass half full that i have ever heard of. |

They tell people to GTFO if they can't handle it but that won't stop the product from ceasing eventually because CCP keeps begging for more revenue.
CCP learn what a game should be and maybe more people will play it. EVE is not fun. It's a grind for nothing.
As the great Wiliam Shatner said, "Get a life will ya people!" But EVE is fun..... IM serious its a pretty epic game when you start getting your own stuff set up in space. Eve really is fun because it's just such a new level that videogames have ascended to, judge it all you want but i mean this kind of stuff is unprecedented in the history of gaming even. It's totally cool to become immersed in a game where so much is going on at one time, and there is so much history behind it, and literally every single element is controlled all by players only. Honestly there's literally no other game that can match Eve, it's on its own entire dimension. |

The point came when I realized I had a real life and I wanted it back. Trust me folks. Nothing to see. Move along before you get suckered into Second Life in Space. I played it too but decided to quit because of time issues as well, but that doesn't mean you can't at least take interest in the large scale things that go on in the Eve Universe. |

Eriknaught wrote:Knightshade Belladonna wrote:Eriknaught wrote:I don't play EVE but I think Revenant's may be underpowered and might need a drop in ISK price. Good call OP. Truly hilarious. That is all. Eriknaught out. END TRANSMISSION. The Revenant is a Sansha's Nation Supercarrier released with the Incursion expansion. In comparison with the other Supercarriers the Revenant is a bit of a blend between the Caldari Wyvern and the Gallente Nyx. The slot layout, CPU, powergrid and base stats are similar to the Wyvern though it trades a medium slot for a high slot and it has a bit more powergrid, and due to the Wyvern's shield resistance bonus it can out-tank the Revenant. The damage and HP bonus to fighters and bombers puts it on-par with the other supercarriers in terms of damage. Using five Drone Control Units to allow for maximizing drone bandwidth with bombers, the Nyx will still slightly out-damage the Revenant but the Revenant will out-damage any other supercarrier. However, when it comes to using the basic drones the Revenant falls short since its role bonus to damage doesn't apply to them and its bonus to launch quantity is only at a standard Carrier's level. basically yes, it is under powered compared to other super carriers. what makes it so special is it's rarity , there are only 2 right now in existence after that one was destroyed Dang, nice report. Really puts it into perspective. Truth be told, most of that went over my head but I got the jist of it. It's a crazy universe we play in. I really hope one day in the future I can do something to kill a Revenant.... Honestly there will probably never come a time Dust players can do anything about Revenants, they would never be anywhere near, let alone involved in a Planetary Conquest. And even if you could shoot at a Revenant (there are only 2 now in Eve's entire universe), you would do about .0001% dmg to it with whatever tool we get to fire at Eve players with. |

Delta 749 wrote: Id like it if we could just storm the damn things and kill the capsuleer Then hold a bonfire on our planet with the Capsuleers body roasting over an open fire right!?!?! Although in all seriousness, it would be cool if somehow we could go into matches set in the scenario that we're rushing through the ship to get to the cabin and take out the capsuleer from the inside, and there could be PvE mobs that the pilot chose to protect his ship that fight the Dust Bunnies. But alas, the possibility of that is so far in the future it's even near ridiculous to speculate about. But.. we can always dream.. right? |

Aero Yassavi wrote:That rage was awesome!
Though what's up with all the people trashing on this? Resorting to name calling and other acts of belittlement to someone who shares our same hobby? Keep in mind everyone here is at least reading a forum for a videogame. So what if it seems ridiculous to get upset about pixels, it's his form of entertainment. What if you snowboarded as a hobby, rode on some decent boards but have been saving up for years to get some super awesome gear. Then your friends tell you to try riding down some mountain without really scoping it out, and you end up breaking your board. "Relax dude, it's just a plank of wood. Your life will be ok." What's the difference?
Truthfully I think it's awesome that there even exists a videogame that has super rare or expensive items that you must make some real plans if you ever wish to obtain it, knowing you could potentially lose it. Nearly every videogame out there is "give it a month or two at most and you can have whatever you want."
At the same time, I love the reaction of the guy who said he is giddy, that is an amazing attitude. My point exactly, it's pretty cool to think that this was even possible or able to happen on a video game, this will surely have me paying more attention to huge intergalactic battles in EvE now lmfao |
