Is there really any point to this gun? Lower damage per shot than the gek, supposedly has higher RPM, but I have no idea how, I cant get it to fire particularly fast. So anyone had any luck with this gun? |

You can't fire fast because it's burst fire. So that's three shots (probably) per pull. I don't like burst fire rifles, I prefer to manually burst fire if I decide to do so. But that single shot duvolle? Oh its so nice |

I love using it in pub matches.. It requires some skill to use though, its not easy to use.
You NEED ARSS5 as well, or hip fire has too much spread.
The scope on it is awesome, could use a slight optimal range boost, 5-10m or so. |

Even though it is a burst weapon, the RPM shown on the gun is higher than the full autp AR's. Its a gun I want to like, but it just feels like half the AR line is useless. It feels like it should be a closer range version of the TAR, capable of higher damage, but the recoil to reduce effectiveness at longer ranges
AR sharp shooter is something I want to get, but being a logi leaves me a bit low on the sp side for weapons, although my indecisiveness over suit choice cost me a lot of sp.. |

Back in beta this used to be a 6-round burst and my favorite gun but then for some reason ccp nerfed it to a 3-round burst

Thank god too... its so much better as a three round burst weapon.
A little more optimal range it would be amazing for people like me who prefer the ~50-60m engagement range... its not terrible in cqc either if you know how to strafe. |

I guess they did it for more realism since usually a burst rifle fires three rounds per pull |

I enjoyed the burst AR pre uprising. I haven't touched an AR in uprising so I can't speak on it. I know that I don't see it enough. In Chrome is was great but there was a burst on every tier. I think they may be only proto now and I am not wasting my SP on an AR that I will rarely use. |

Also ive just noticed online that the RPM of the advanced is 830, but the proto has 940. I know where the rest of my triple sp is going |

Comes down to play style then.. i don't like the rpm rate on the tac anymore... but the rpm on the burst is nice, and the damage isn't OP. |

You make a good point, the tar feels to slow now, ill have to try it on my tac fit instead. It might be pricey, but once i get my first proto weapon, im damn sure going to use it, I want to see if its as strong as it appears on the receiving end :P |

Used to be godlike in closed beta and Chrome, but it seems to have lost its luster in Uprising. The new sights are much better though. I think they might have ninja nerfed the hip fire spread. |

You really need to know how to aim with the burst rifles then its a killer ar. But I do wish it was back to 7 rounds or even 5 would be nice with an extended clip size. |

Sight is really useful and you dont have to worry about kick and spread
Really accuarate and awesome at mid range and to finish people off
Im a logi and it is a beast if i run with a heavy (he takes care of the close range) |

Tried out the GK-13 Burst AR for awhile. I liked the scope and all, but stopped using it for two reasons. Firstly the recoil while zoomed in is significant, and I was having trouble getting all 3 rounds of the burst to land. This combined with the fact that it does the same damage per shot as the GEK-38, and that the burst mechanic leads to a slower effective RPM, made me feel like the gun was less effective than the GEK for general use. Also, the scope had me shooting at things that were outside my effective range (although hard to tell without in-game ranges). I have AR Operation 5 but sharpshooter is only at 1, maybe this makes a difference.
Ultimately I ended up switching to the GLU tactical AR because of the improved range and increased damage per shot. The problem now is that its the worst in CQC, which means its not the best choice for my logi suit. So I use the GEK on my logi and the GLU on my assault, which has the benefit of a SMG for CQC. |

Ive been finding this as well, I spend all of today using the burst (adv level) . I had some good experiences with it... in around the 25-40m range or so, ranges closer than that it wasnt able to put out damage quickly enough, and further away sucks because of its pathetic range, and when I unlocked the douvolle earlier it reminded me how much better the gek is in practically every situation :P |
