Personally I find that 3 rounds is perfect. It allows you to correct faster when you miss and lets you 'fire' faster. The 8 rounds so punishing if you missed. You can spam that allotek almost like you could spam the old OP tac.. its an amazing gun when used right.
However... its got a similar optimal to the AR but a zoomed in scope... which makes the gun feel counter intuitive. It just needs a tad bit more optimal... seriously 5-10m and it will be a good compromise between the tac and the AR.
hip fire dispersion on it is fine, its not bad at all at sharpshooter 4. |

I love Semi-Auto Marksman Rifles and Burst ARs in most games, but the burst in Dust is jacked. I still use it occassionally, but stick with TAC mostly.
TBH, CCP should hit up DICE for some tips on how to tune the burst. BF has the AN-94 and KH-2002 (burst rifles) down to perfection.
Burst ARs need 5-10m more range, and 0-bullet spread on the FIRST BURST. The immediate following burst can then have bullet spread as they do now. This would put the bursts on even ground for it's INTENDED PURPOSE. (which for bursts is to be a in-between compromise between full-auto ARs and semi-auto ARs) |

Don't waste your time until you run the allotek. Once you learn to trigger it right you can kick out a whole clip from the beast as far as it bursts. Takes a lot to get used to tho. And if you play more assault than support, the regular duvolls work much better/more cost effective. |

A little more optimal range it would be amazing for people like me who prefer the ~50-60m engagement range... its not terrible in cqc either if you know how to strafe. Then the only thing that would out-range it would be sniper rifles... and forgeguns...
That may not be broken damage wise, but it would still be broken for the same reason sharpshooter was, at least until we get the other rifles in game. |

The burst AR works good in certain circumstances, mainly elevated sneak attacks, before they know whos shooting theyre down, easy to burstfire head shots with it |

The Combat Rifle will be a burst-fire weapon, and designed around that fire mode, so hopefully it'll be a better weapon. |
