I don't know if anyone has posted a topic about this or if a dev has acknowledged the fact that people who played and/or capped out on Wednesday lost out on a potential 570k or 856k SP. I was apart of the group that capped out on Wednesday because I wanted to get the maximum SP possible, and I know people are going to say "Why did you play on wednesday , you couldn't wait one day?" I capped out on Wednesday because CCP confirmed that if we did manage to cap out we would not be affected. Its not the point that the event did not go as planned, it the fact of how they resolved it. The people who didn't play Wednesday and capped out Thursday got 571,200(856,800 with active booster) and CCP's answer to the script not working properly was was to just reset everyones skill cap back to 571,200 which basically gave the people who did not play Wednesday that played Thursday and additional 570K(856k) SP which in total is around 1mil+ SP or 1.7mil.

This is one of those situation where the developers had good intentions but something went wrong. I just hope the developers compensate for what happened or at least give feedback to this because it would be unfair to basically give people who didn't take CCP's word an extra 570k SP and give the rest nothing.Hopefully CCP has a way of keeping track of everyones SP or at least have a way of remotely keeping track of it.

Feedback would be appreciated, especially from a dev on this matter.

If you capped on hump day, then you're out 375ish SP. The game's free, and you're still earning a metric crap-ton of SP. Be happy that you're here for the event. I travel for work quite a bit, and I missed the last one. Less QQ, more Pew Pew!

You lost nothing its been fixed
Yesterday I had 300k+ SP left til I hit the cap, today its 500k+ sp til the cap

So did I but you don't see me crying about it; besides I am pretty sure the cap reset on Thursday again anyway

I capped on Wednesday, but the fix worked for me. If you're still having problems still, I would recommend posting in the bugs/tech support section, or filing a petition.

There really is no better option. They would either have to take away SP already earned, or do what they did and just reset everyone. If they did the former, there would be a lot more tears. Especially from busy people who set aside Wed/Thur to hit the cap, only to be told it was for nothing and now they have to re-grind.

This assumes they can set an individual cap for every player easily, quickly, and without it messing anything else up. Not saying they can't, but it may not be as feasible as you think.

A few guessed something like this might happen and so played a crappy alt on wed, and capped on thursday. I bet some even capped friday. How come you didnt?

Everyone knows things go wonky with each step forward. One could argue that you people who capped on wednesday should stop begging for something then complaining when you get it. Or is it that you are jealous? Life is not fair and you cant have everything.

Unless of course you anticipated it all and acted accordingly. Wow that would be a nice bump were someone to have done that.

If you have been around, you expect CCP to muck up events, updates, and especially communication.

If this is your first taste of that, then learn from it.

I agree that it is a horrible reflection on CCP. However, that does not change the facts on the ground.

CCP has shown again and again that events get messed up.

As players most of us should have the good sense to anticipate this.

If you, or anyone else is SP focused, there is twice the incentive to be cautious concerning events, especially something like 3x SP.

That still is not a valid argument though , of course expect it.. but I mean dude, we all asked about if tons of times in thread after thread and then 2 actual developers say not to worry.. you think they might actually have it right. OP capped out Wednesday because he's a try hard (and I suspect he thought thurs was a cap reset). it was "supposed" to only add the remainder to your cap, that is to say-remaining sp cap plus 2(normal week cap)

So instead of maximizing his potential sp- he essentially lost the ability to farm ~380k sps ....
Keep in mind he still can potentially get FOUR weeks worth of sp (more then we were even promised for the event)
Other ppl potentially got SIX weeks worth and that's the complaint....

You did not Lose anything. You cannot Lose what you didn't have.

As I have said before, I lost out on the chance to earn 6x SP.

This my first time seeing this happen from CCP because i have only been playing Dust for about a month and I know people are going to be like "well this is CCP, learn from it."

were the people that grinded all day thursday not wed
I used like 30k SP of the regular cap on wed
thur I grinded my remaining 3xSP t0 about 90k
got on fri and had the 570 something SP reset

They made the event on start on Thursday because of July 4th.

If the event ends on the 10th July (GMT) then it will end during downtime of the reset so no triple SP on Wednesday after downtime. I can not remember them saying they are extending the event to the 11th July only resetting the bonus SP on Friday.

It would be nice to get another day after the SP reset but I am not expecting it.

Four weeks worth of sp is easily possible if you capped out wed....

Cap out wed= 1 weeks worth of sp
Sp cap at zero thurs. because you hit cap wed
Fri cap reset at triple= 3 weeks worth of sp

Here's why you are a try hard...
You capped out wed= 1 weeks sp
Thurs you should have had 2weeks sp added to your remaining sp cap/ you thought it was a reset and that is why you capped out wed.....
Thurs- should of had 2 weeks/ really got 0 weeks
Fri-ccp fixed thurs mistake and reset cap to full- 3 weeks of sp cap available
So doing the math you can potentially get 4 weeks of sp when you should have been only able to get 3
You capped out wed thinking you could get 4 weeks/ and you ended up with four weeks worth-wtf is the problem again...

check your times. i think youll find i'm right. dont need it to extend to the eleventh. the tenth will be fine we reset in the AM and i have that whole day to grind out another 550k.

At best someone got two weeks (~380k) more then others (keep in mind this is potential not actual)

Here I'll do the math again....

Wed cap reset- ~190k
Thurs- remaining cap was tripled
Assuming you got all 190k wed you go to zero
If you used zero wed you go to ~570
570 minus 190= 380k (cause you couldn't get both the 570 thu and the 190 wed, wed excludes thu)

See how fun math is?

And on top of that you (potentially) got 4 weeks of sp (4 is more then the 3 we were promised)
Although some ppl (potentially) got 6 weeks of sp this in no way harms you (and realistically there's no way to fix this to make their potential gain equal your potential gain)
