Seymor Krelborn wrote:I'm sick and tired of stupid blueberries stealing my LAV! thankfully my SAGA is free (if you don't count the real 100$ I spent on the elite pack) but I think im starting to understand why there are so many useless tank pilots who wont leave the tank to help cap a point or some other task that requires them on foot... im guessing its because they don't want someone stealing their tank and getting it blown up.
seriously I cant tell you how many times I leave my vehicle for 2 seconds to do something useful for my team only to have some idiot come along and steal it, more than most the time getting it blown up.
so I ask of you CCP on behalf of all us vehicle operators give us some way to "lock our vehicles without having to recall them.
please +1 this if you feel the same
thanks. Only if it's a 6x skill and locks consume a high slot =p

A very simple way to solve this would be to implement a "lock/unlock vehicle" feature similar to how the "flip vehicle", "enter vehicle", and "recall vehicle" work. Simply add a "lock/unlock vehicle" option assigned to the triangle button when approaching your vehicle.
The option to lock/unlock would only be available to the vehicle owner. (Player who originally qued or hacked the vehicle)
You would still be able to hack a locked enemy vehicle. Vehicle would become unlocked after hacking.
The option to lock vehicle would only be available for 15 seconds after exiting a vehicle.
Once a vehicle is locked no one can enter the vehicle or switch seats, however a player may still exit the vehicle.
Once a vehicle is locked it would no longer explode if left unattended. This way a player may still return to the vehicle after completion of a particularly lengthy engagement.
Locked vehicles could still take damage from AV weapons.
As a side note implementation of this would also provide the basis for the removal of the free LAV, thereby alleviating some of the LAV spam murder taxiing, as players would be more willing to spec into a vehicle knowing they could prevent it from being stolen or destroyed by artificial means (unattended vehicle destruction). |

Would be smart to be able to give this function to a squad, that way there could be designated tank-squads.
Reason; I play as a Logi, sometimes riding with tanks as gunman and fixer-crew, and have to admit itGÇÖs irksome when someone jumps in the tank while IGÇÖm busy patching it up. Most of them have no care for it either, bolting the first sign of problem without trying to provide some TLC or coverfire for the tank to retreat if it gets hot. |

A simpler way would be for only squad mates can have immediate access to your vehicle if you are not inside it. Let there be a timer of 5-10 secs before any non squad mate can get inside your vehicle once you've left it. And if you must recall your vehicle, you should be able to go up to it and hold circle to kick everyone out of it and locking them out except you or 5 secs. This would help prevent many blue berries from stealing your vehicle when you try to get them out of it to recall it. These are ideas that I thin would work well. |

while not a full lock i haver noticed that i cannot immediately jump into other peoples vehicles for about 2-3 seconds after the vehicle spawns in(during this time a squad vehicle will also be "green") and then once those few seconds are up it'll allow anyone to jump in. while not very long not sure when they snuck it in but is this at least a start?? was wondering if any other vehicle pilots noticed that or if it was just me being slow :)
p.s. i rarely take friendly vehicles unless the tank pilot was an idiot and called the tank in and got himself killed(i will USUALLY give it back)
p.s.s. i like jumping into blueberry lavs as that gets me to the point quicker if you domt jump in immediately the blueberry runs off with 2 spots empty |

This is seriously an issue that needs resolved soon, I do not spend 800 to a Mil in isk on a tank anyone can use and no doubt promptly get blown to bits.
There have been numerous times I have wanted to change out tanks, repair(I run shield tanks and a armor repper on my suit), or simply try to snipe an enemy with my sniper rifle then pop back into my tank. But I live in a perceptual shell that is my tank because I'm surrounded by crazy tank eating zombie blueberries that live off the destruction of your tank. Mindless A * *holes.
I've actually driven my tank into the redzone hoping the blueberries could take a hint, no they are mindless, with only one sole purpose, to drive your bada** tank. If they seriously don't get out of my tank after taking them to a redzone, I wait and wait, and wait, and wait some more. Then I hit my boosters, drive as far into the redline as I can, and let the timer tick down. Still these f**kin ****** zombie douches stay. What is your problem blueberry, guess what we all die. I will be the one in control of my tank and when it dies or how. For I am more then willing to lose that expensive tank over something I should have control over, who RUNS my tank.
What I really hate more then anything is blueberries in my rail sniper, shooting constantly. I mean I'll give them this, they ARE shooting at something. But you would think after 1000 shots you would realize you aren't doing anything. Just leaching my points. Ok, cool but can you please stop shooting that f ing turret, oh no you cant. Ok... Oh sh**, I'm on fire and now in a safe zone. Blueberry, please don't do it. I pop out and start repping it, whew fires out. My tank moves over the crest, the turret alone is worth a mil, and boom, it is gone. The only good thing about it, so is the blueberry. You a**hole *uck zombie douche ****** blueberries.

Skipper Jones wrote:I really don't care what CCP does on this issue. But until then, I'm WILL steal your LAV. I do have rules with stealing LAVs though 1-If the owner asks nicely, I'll give it back 2-If the owner is a **** about it, I will get it destroyed ON PURPOSE 3-If the owner is indifferent (doesn't ask for it back), I'll try my best to keep it alive. (I own my own Logi LAV so I can drive pretty well) Lol nice.
I own the Saga from the elite pack and I got it with blue print modules. So I got unlimited amount of them, so I always call about 4-5 for people. Just call, drive it up to someone and get out. Did that last match and we won because we made a bridge of cars lol. it slowed them down enough for me to forge them lol than they called a tank and my sqaud and me just rammed it with the cars lol. Fun times |

i Support the idea of Locking vehicles, but only to members of your squad. Hence should the owner/driver die, a squad mate can retrieve the vehicle and continue to use it to the squad's advantage. the standard 'destruction timer' should remain should no squad member be able to retrieve said vehicle.
in the event where a vehicle is called in by a merc that is not in a squad, and said merc is K.I.A., then the vehicle should be available to any team member to steal. that way if you want to guarantee that you, and only you, have access to said vehicle you would have to create a squad (and lock it) to ensure no Blueberry can steal your ride.
all vehicles should be able to be hacked by the enemy though. that should not change IMO. |
