I'm loving the new revival mechanics, yes, but its also true that revive farming that was so prominent in Chromosome (I was part of it, and my inner logibro shrivels up with guilt every time I remember it) is now back in U1.2.
What shouldn't happen is have the revival mechanics changed again. They're awesome right now.
However, I believe there is one aspect of the game which we could alter to suit our cause.
When a mercenary is downed and we shoot the dead body, it should effectively prevent that person from being revived, right?
Now, as revival has resurfaced as an important aspect of the game, denying revivals should counterbalance, as well as prevent exploitation.
I'm thinking, kills by explosive weapons should gain an extra 5 WP, because they deny the victims from being revived, And there should be perhaps 10WP every time a merc shoots a downed enemy to actually make the clone 'dead dead'. Call it Finisher WP, or something like that.
Further ideas and comments are welcome. |

Which adds another layer of tactics and strategy to the game. If a friendly goes down, for example, and you know these aforementioned idiots will try take out the downed teammate, you will camp the body, and therefore protect any medics who will come with a nanite injector.

Well there won't be any indicators showing the enemy where your teammate's bleeding out body is. They'll have to actively go searching for it if they wanted it, so more likely, teammates will camp another blue dot's body in the middle of a firefight.
And in that case, there is no spoil of farm, because enemies are everywhere.

My Clan leader suggested this to me...
How about a capture system where you would have to run over to the downed red dot and perform a timed circle action to capture the enemy. This could lead to the increased chance of coming out with salvage maybe a 25% chance say and also you could be given a nominal amount of WP (5?) for your troubles. |

That's interesting. I worry that not many people would want to crouch over a dead body for long, however, as they'd be sniper fodder. However, if it was a quick action, and if the salvage gain is significant (100% chance to get at least 1 item that person had), it might work. Or people would swarm over a dead body fighting for the salvage.
Could lead to disastrous situations in pub matches where lots of people are scrabbling over downed enemies like scavengers, and some other enemy comes along with some nice grenades or even worse, an MD or a tank. Or a murder taxi.
To be honest, your suggestion deserves a thread in itself. There are lots of different ways it could be implemented. |

I can see where you are coming from but in my eyes a timed action (and im not talking hacking amounts of time, maybe a second or so) would be the risk factor introduced. The reward being a much lower % than100% for me is also a must as the reason you are doing it should be first and foremost to remove a potential red dot back to spawn and therefore the clone count (for the team). The extra WP and increased chance of salvage are just to sweeten the deal and the risk that you might die in doing so.
It would lead to some interesting tactics on the battlefield IMO, lets face it, if its abused its no more game damaging than anything else CCP have put in lol.
I may raise this as a seperate topic and see how quickly it crashes and burns |

a) Make accepting a revive optional, not mandatory.
b) double taps to make sure enemies go down, and stay down...
