considering there's a mandatory EVE Help channel for new pilots, I think its strange there was not one for Dust.

I have talked with mintchip about this, their reason is that text chat on a console isn't ideal.

If you really want to improve the new player experience, truly want to do it. Then I'd be happy to help but I'd strongly suggest over hauling the idea.

Make a channel for new players. Promote it here on the forums. See if we can't get a Eve Dev to make it a community spot light so people know it exists. CCP Mintchip might even help with that, community liaison and all.

Play some matches with them and take notes on what they have to say. It may sound like a lot of work but split between two or three people (especially if they happened to be in different time zones) would make a project like this remarkably easy.

Organize meet and greet events. See if we can't get representatives from established corporations and alliance to pop in and lead a squad or just tag along. Offering advice on fits, suits, play styles.

All of this would help make the game more welcoming, more open and hopefully give people a desire to keep fighting.

EVE has a channel like this, and it always bothered me why Dust doesn't.
I don't like to do community effort projects, so I shy'd away from doing this.

I've been trying to save up for a District so it can host 16 vs 16 militia fit fights, slow going but I'm getting there.

G I A N T has been doing a lot of training lately and we were considering doing what you're doing. Regardless of who does it, if there is support from veteran players, it will help the new players as long as they know about it. That's the biggest issue. A fraction of the Dust population frequents the forums/YouTube/other. An even smaller percentage of new players do.

hey cat add me I am on a lot and been in dust from the start and know just about every in dust and eve too put me in all tz I work from home so I be on tru all tz

I think in addition to this, there should be an ingame tech support chat channel, so players can get a direct line to problems with the game instead of having to talk about it here

I think that's a real bad idea. You might be genuine about it but others will use it as a platform to troll and rage. In which that would prohibit those who actually want to use the service for genuine purposes. Offspring...you gotta keep em separated.

well I guess this is for just some of us because page 3 frist post I ask too be add too list seeing I know alot about dust seeing that I been here from day 1 but I was not added

so I say it must be hate that I was not added too the list so cat I will shoot you in the back shooting you face too face would be just too nice:)

I will try to watch this channel as much as possible using my free time.

In this channel, you are welcome to ask questions, answer questions if you know the answer, or if you want I will gladly squad up with you if you need detailed help.
If you donGÇÖt have a mic, I have a keyboard connected to my PS3 to answer your questions quickly.

Here are my goals:

Stay on this channel as much as I can to answer your questions

Take new players into combat so I can show them the game

Try to get CCPGÇÖs support, to make this channel a default one like EVEGÇÖs help channel
