As jumping around as if you were on fire has become a popular fad for avoiding cannon fodder, I suggest this: x2 dmg recieved while in mid air. You can still use this strat to avoid fire but keeps this game grounded and away from a halo style fps.

I suggest aiming better, but that's not always an option. In those cases, I suggest committing suicide in a public area, just don't let station management catch you

Stamina is already in place to stop bunnyhopping. Also, jumping while getting shot at is absolutely realistic. |

I'd suggest Decrease in accuracy by 50% or something rather than damage and/or if you get hit in air you lose all stamina. You just got hit by a bullet in the air you arent landing how you wanted to. |

Or you know just take the ability to jump your own height out of the game.
but then CCP would have to make straddle animations for jumping on boxes and going over rails.
Pretty sure CCP is incapable of doing that. |

Jet boots?
I'd be cool with Jet Packs on one condition, they're like the San Andreas jet packs (which is to say that they are fairly slow and not the greatest at maneuverability). Oh, and if I can kill the user by one shotting the LAV sized hitbox of a pack on their back providing propulsion.
Also, we've already got wormholes, re: Drop Uplinks. |

Just a note:
yes i want hops nerfed....for every class but Scouts.
Scouts should be shouting for this as well when a minmatar assault can run as fast as the fastest scout build.
Bunny hopping assault and logis have destroyed the scout class as much as anything. |

Well then, allow me to agree with you then.
I still hope for Dust to lean more towards SciFi War Sim than silly bunnyhopping, strafing FPS trash like most of the rest of the saturated market. |

Another note:
Scouts should be able to run while crouched.
If CCP wants to make a ninja/rogue class then it should make a ninja/rogue class not the BS it has now which is basically an assault with less health. |

The jumping mechanic is foolish. I would prefer the jumping height and distance not be as extreme. Unfortunately for those of us that prefer a little more realism, CCP has designed map terrains around this extreme jumping mechanic. If the foolishly high jumping was removed, a good amount of map terrain would have been created in vain. |

I'm pretty sure that there is something like this already in place. I have scored several "gift" kills with sniper rifles on clones trying to jump off of a structure or even just jumping while sprinting across an open area. Now granted, most people don't hop until they have taken damage, but I call them gifts because there is NO WAY that my shot even hit the target much less scored a death-dealing headshot. Its just like magic. The round turns "smart" because the target is airborne.
With that said, I think people get screwed by the hoppers at close range. The smgs and pistols do not swing (aim) fast enough to counter a bouncing shotgunner or flaylock tuber unless you are hipfiring in which case one will likely need both help and luck to come out alive. And, with that said, one only has themselves and their team to blame for said enemy to have approached undetected.
In all, I think the jumping being tied to stamina is the right way to go. If your strategy is to be a hopper, then you must burn a mod slot for regeneration, and you have to skill the biotics and cardiac regulation. A 5% max stamina boost isn't anything but with the 15% possible boost to recovery, its one or two more jumps or sprints to either get behind, or come out from behind that little bit of cover then run a mod on top of it. IDK how many times I been suckered into chasing a scout with a militia shotgun around a corner, only to have the slippery turd be in mid-air as I rounded the corner and deal me a doodoo blast to the face. Bravo Mr. Scout, Bravo.

While i think jumping makes sense (and height too we are super soldiers) getting hit midair should have consequences. Even if it means getting spun around or smoe crap so you arent going the way you were before.

Regardless of our opinions, CCP probably shouldn't remove this mechanic since the terrain is designed around jumping. That was a more important statement than my opinion of the jumping as foolishly high. As such, Game mechanics are more important than having a cool story, bro. |

How anyone thinks bunny hopping is an issue in this game only suggest that peoples aim in this game is utter crap. Sorry but given the extremely slow pace of movement and the laughably predictable jumping hitting your target is easy as this

As other players have mentioned, Dust clones could be super soldiers so as far as the story goes, they should have the finger strength to scale cliffs. A hurdling mechanic is common in other FPS such as BF, COD, and other FPS. |
