We all know that is difficult to keep everything balanced in a shooter game, we all realize there will always be someone who disagree with your choices, no matter what you do... but here's what:
The last update to the Tactical AR was good! There are moments where I need to put down my sniper rifle and the TAR was my favorite weapon for those moments... and it still is! I don't want to be sarcastic here (ok, you got me, maybe just a little bit ), but that was the first time you didn't ban a weapon to the "limbus of the forgotten" That's a great improvement! (someone complain about the fact that the Duvolle model needs a slightly larger clip size to justify the price difference and I may agree, but this is another story...)
I'm sure you can do it again, and to be honest... we need it: When the 99% of the forumers agree about something you really can't go wrong. That's the purpose of our feedback, right? And there IS something the 99% (not sure it's 99%, it could even be 100% ) of us agree. We had several changes to our favorite weapons/equipment/etc... but unfortunatley, unlike the TAR patch, they were bad. I can say this because when something is no longer used in the battlefield, that's not a good sign. I'm sure that, inspired by the TAR update, you can move just a step back and find a different, better way to balance some stuff you already nerfed to bring it back in DUST 514.
If you really think Dropships, Mass Drivers and Laser Rifles were overpowered, please think at something to make them balanced: Take the previous (pre-nerf) specs, take the current specs and pick an intermediate value to give a new chance to them. Let's see how these things work with new specs and if people enjoy them.

Yes! My LR, even though I run it to moderate success, needs to be fixed! At least give the ADV & PRO more damage than the STD version... + 1 using success as a model for success |

I have sayed and I will continue saying it. Dropships needs more speed, maneuverability and a little more life (Breach forge gun can take a dropships with a single shot!) (but bot enough health to make them Air tanks).
New controls will be welcome too, something, that can make the old pilots more comfortable with the dropships and make the.new ones faster learning how to drive that (If continues like it is now) flying coffin.
Laser Rifle, I don't know if they need a damage increase, but a increase on the time before getting overheated, and another sight will be appreciated.

To be fair, the current mass driver doesn't work right due to bugs in the explosion radius not being read properly when on a slope, not because of any damage / radius nerfs.
I've also made several threads on why dropships are actually fine the way they are. The problem lies with small map sizes and forges / rails hitting full damage values out to a near unlimited range. The maps are small enough that you are always within sight of every AV player on the map at any given point in time, and there is no range you can keep them at to reduce incoming damage because these weapon systems have no falloff range. Whether you're hovering 15m above the forge gunner or a mile out, he's still throwing rhinos through your windshield.
As for the laser rifle... It could use a bit of love. I have an Amarrian Assault alt that can use them pretty effectively, however it does take longer to kill someone than other weapons. The Viziam laser rifle from the last build was just crazy OP, and that was due to a typo in the damage value. The overheating problem can be mitigated by using an Amarr Assault suit, which offers 5% heat buildup reduction per level.
The iron sight on the LR needs a lot less of a bloom effect though. It's just straight-up debilitating. |

I don't understand how you guy figure that the TAR nerf was a success. A manually fired weapon that has a rate of fire? WTF *shakes his head* A rate of fire that someone with arthritics could beat. The TAR is pretty much junk now (the only thing it is good for is ranged attacks and that is it, and it doesn't even do that very well). I don't see how anyone else can claim other wise. |

The real problem with the LR is that ADS speed is too slow since uprising. If a target moves, you will not re-acquire them. If you attempt to track them without ADS, you will overshoot most of the time. |

a few of my buddy's do good with the TARs...
also tot eh guy saying buff DS HP, I agree with another poster`s comment saying move the resistant and weakness parts around so its stronger in the nose and belly, HP wise its fine since we are using STD-ADV HP modules and only STD DS, what needs fixed is primarily WP, there`s a huge list I got but WP are the worst. |

LR needs to be changed back to how it was in Chromosone, it was perfect (Except for the broken Viziam, which was brokenNOT OP) CCP admitted the damage numbers were wrong on the Viziam, this includes removing the god awful Iron Sights. |

Well, I'm not sure how, but some players were able to tap it TOO fast.
To be honest I'd like its ROF set at 440-450 instead of 400, but not higher than that: Just imagine the gun as a real-life weapon; it has virtually no ROF cap, it's true, but how fast can you pull the trigger and still have some sort of accuracy? A ROF cap is a good way to simulate the human limit.
Still I wouldn't mind that 10% higher ROF, but even without it, I find it the best choice to dominate a position war and to take out a single target at medium-long range. It is particularly effective when two opposing groups are phisically separated and as area-denial weapon when you're defending an elevated position. If anything, I believe the range gap between the TAR and the full auto AR's is too inconsistent. I should have a great advantage against a GEK at 60m (clean 1v1 without any sort of cover of elevation) using a GLU, but it's not.
I also think TAR is suffering a terrible lack of hit-detection more than other weapons, so it will massively benefit from any improvement to the hit-detection system. It seems like the client will be improved for projectile weapons (most affected by this issue), so this will affect Assault Rifles... and hopefully... Mass Drivers (not sure, being explosive-projectile based)? |
