Railguns / Blasters fall under the hybrid category. In Eve, hybrid weapons use the same ammo type, but utilize it differently.

I would like a lot more descriptions e.g. When you are on the map screen before deploying give me the name of the map for future reference. Yes I could look on the forums but as others have said only a small percentage of the player base use the forums and I have spoken to a few players who never even knew the maps had names.
Or the ability to sort or highlight particular types of items based on criteria e.g. Please highlight or sort by Hybrid weapon. |

Hybrid (plasma) - assault rifle, plasma cannon, ion pistol (not yet released), shotgun
Hybrid (railgun) - forge gun, sniper rifle, magsec SMG (not yet released), rail rifle (not yet released), bolt pistol (not yet released)
Laser (beam) - laser rifle
Laser (pulse) - scrambler pistol, scrambler rifle
Projectile - SMG, HMG, combat rifle (not yet released), precision rifle (not yet released)

Sniper does 100% base damage to both shields and armor.
What's odd is that various plasma weapons get different bonuses to damageGǪ
AR is plasma, 110% shield effectiveness, 90% armor effectiveness.
Shotty is plasma, 110% shield effectiveness, 135% armor effectiveness.
Blasters are plasma, 100% shield effectiveness, 100% armor effectiveness.
Plasma Cannon is plasma too, but I don't have the numbers. 
Kinda weird, eh? Especially odd that Shotty effectively has a built-in damage mod. |
