Just few ideas. I think that scouts should have more E-warfare attributes. Along the lines of what you're saying here. Better detection would be nice. Although the Gallente Scout is the only suit that can actually have a nice sized scan radius, around 30 meters I believe.
After about 2 mill SP investment on top of the racial suit skills.....I wish that the devs would comment on the state of eWAR. There have been a number of threads on it that got a fair amount of attention but no devs yet. Honestly if other people don't have incentives to using the mini-map then a reduction to profile that a scout gets is worthless. Put all the suits range back up to 10 m and then there's actually a reason to use scouts.
If any dev wants to check this out, I suggest checking for usage patterns of profile dampeners. Chromosome build they were actually useful and had a sizable following. I'd be surprised if anyone uses them right now outside of the random rookie. Anyone care to confirm?
Also, the active scanner has been losing popularity as well, mainly due to the lack of two equipment slot suits (imo). Uplinks are just too important right now to sacrifice one to carry an active scanner, except in rare occasions. Scouts should have a larger "support" role and two equip slots (and some more CPU/PG to fit them) would help this along ie: bring back a type 2, or b type or k.1 suits |

I ... am actually 100% for this. Not immediately, mind. It's difficult to implement and not high priority, but... imagine the possibilities. It should slowly drain stamina though. |

I can't wait to be a bad a$$, functional Scout with functional weapons. Reduce damage from falling or, or let us use the inertia dampeners at will. More platforms to jump on and unto enemies.

I say no to all of theses
and the reason why
1) Scouts suits should be buffed to where they cost the same as other suits, a death still counts as a death in a match
2) Any Binocular range would better be served with a diligent sniper, otherwise the battlefield will change by the time you get there without you being able to do anything.
3) We are getting webbing equipment and EWAR in the future with equipment
4) I like this one the most, but there is a better alternative
5) This is a fat no, I can't tell you how many times I was sneaking on an opponent only to have some AR trigger happy numbskull fire giving away my position, yet losing the confrontation. This would hurt us.

I doubt we'll get anything to balance the suit classes Agreed - most people seem to mini scout because shield tanking is really the only defense sensible for scouts and the mini bonus is actually useful.
The bonus for the mini seems to work just fine but I'm generally against bonuses to any weapon damage because they allow weapons to be used in a way different to how they were originally designed. Minis are already fast enough that there's no need for a speed buff bonus beyond their base stats. The gal bonus really needs looking at though because the way detection works at the moment, there's really no point in it. Hardly anyone runs a low enough scan profile to warrant better scan precision.
I run gallente scout purely because I can put hacking mods on it without losing space for armor reppers but the slot progression must be wrong - the adv suit surely is supposed to be 1 hi 3 lo.
The new plates will be useful to all scouts but especially the gal. I agree though, that scouts in general need a small cpu/pg buff all round.

Nova Knives are all ready mega power (with maxed Proficiency and Mods). No use for overkill. Fast movement could make up for their weak suits. This post burns my eyes.....
All jokes aside the nova knives are prehaps the only weapons that scouts have that's going for them everything else can be used on the medium frames and are just as effective, with more ehp,taking these from the scouts would not be a good idea in my opinion.
Had an idea : instead of a melee increase for the racial add a movement speed increase, or sprint/endurance, the melee is pretty weak at the moment so this would be a good change yes? |
