How is kb/m support crucial to a game where a vast majority are DS3 users?
I thought you were one of the more sensible players given how long you've been playing but thats a sad reason to defend kb/m support.

I for one support kb funcionality for ease of chat control when voice chat is not an option but feel like mouse has no place in a console game unless the kb/m was a requirement so everyone would be on equal footing. Anyone who says DS3 is better than kb/m is just lying to themselves, if and when CCP manages to do a 1:1 copy of mouse movement, the difference would be clear ingame and be a requirement for competetive gaming.

It's horrible IF you aren't accustomed to using a KB/M. It takes a lot of time to accustom yourself to using just your thumbs or all your fingers. Most of the top players are KB/M.


It's just like FGC(Fighting Game Community) You got pads (controller) vs Stick (Arcade fight sticks) The guys who are used to controller and their thumbs doing most the work use pad. The guys who are used to using most their fingers use fight stick. Only difference is in FGC one doesn't have advantages over the other in anything. Perhaps slightly movement but that's even state of mind.

Here in Dust the keyboard can sprint while strafing, controller can't.

You know this thread makes me think, a lot of the EVE fanboys are the ones using a keyboard and mouse and have said they would quit if it was removed
And that makes me think of all their "great" feedback that has helped put the game in its current state with nerfs across the board due to their cries of OP

Now these things together lead me to ask, in the long term is losing those players a bad thing

It really is a bad thing because most of Dust is EVE players. I know a lot of us like to think we are mostly PS3 players but it's not the case. Most of the people in this community are Eve/PC players. So if those players quit we will have maybe 1500 players left.

You know what I do find funny though, for all of EVE players talk about how New Eden is a harsh place and you need to harden up to survive they sure do whine a lot about this or that or whatever killed them being OP

But the controller has better strafing ability than the keyboard does OP

You mouse/KB users have a clear advantage vs us console gamers. You can't aim as fast and precise with an analog stick as with a mouse. With a keyboard is easier to strafe and jump while shooting at the same time with the mouse.

This a CONSOLE game having mouse/KB support is a huge mistake. The majority of the new players are console gamers which get owned 1vs1 because they're using a DS3. The console and PC community will NEVER be able to unified because both controllers are entirely DIFFERENT.

Different in that one is clearly better at shooting things than the other. I'm actually glad your kind got nerfed with Uprising srsly. But I'm afraid your aiming will get fixed to being again PC pro vs console noob.

And for the people going, blah blah 20 bucks, get one blah bLAH.. DO YOU NOT REALIZE WTF WE ARE PLAYING ON? why the hell would we have to be compelled to purchase a kb/m for a system that comes with.. A CONTROLLER , not a dam keyboard like your pc
