Something I've noticed about Dust compared to other shooters is that players move and strafe too damn fast. Include in this bad hit detection and sluggish aiming that accelerates out of nowhere, it makes really hard to kill people without spraying and praying. If the client/servers are laggy by nature and can't be optimized then just reduce strafe speed and sprint speed. This will reduce the lag significantly because the client/server will have enough time to register movements and hits.

Games speed has been nerfed since replication in every build cause CCP couldn't fix hit detection.
They still can't solve it.
The game is far too slow as is. It makes fantasy slow and sluggish and unexciting. Speed needs to be increased |

If it gets increased we will have even worse hit detection problems. Ever tried hitting a scout suit? Lots of bullets connecting but no damage. Well that's an advantage of being scout and with smaller body frame it makes the hit detection worse. Let's say both the heavy and scouts are fine, it's the medium suits that are too fast, and generally suffer from bad hit detection even though they shouldn't. |

Come on movement are already very slow. Fixing aiming and HD need to be done differently. |

CCP has been lowering the movement speed for a long time. Just because they can't fix hit detection doesn't mean we should be snails.
Edit: also the time to kill in CoD and Battlefield is a lot lower, so close quarter fights don't last very long. In Dust they do, so people will be running around you a lot more. |

No they ain't. I swear the guy at CoD moves at 5 m/s Dust speed when sprinting.

So long as hit detection is on the server side, you will continue to have poor hit detection. Slower movement speed is the only thing that can help alleviate that.

Yes they do move slower, and it feels sluggish, frustrating, and you insta die in 2 bullets. MAG was more pacey than Dust. CS was more pacey than dust. unreal, etc, etc.

This game is based on the Unreal engine.
I remember in Unreal Tournament you could set the speed of a game. You could have it sped up to where people are running around so fast you could hardly shoot anything. |

Compared to what?
CQC feels too fast because your eyes can't make sense of fps going out of whack and the bad control input, but DUST is definitely a think and move paced game most of the time. |

That's because most of the time you are playing pubscum who stand still while they fire or run in straight, predictable lines. If you fight anyone decent, this is not the case. It becomes a tracking shooter with erratic movement. That would be fine, except hit detection is ass. This is compounded by terrible aim mechanics.
The aim mechanics will probably get adjusted eventually, but the hit detection will always be screwed up due to server side involvement. So the game will always be deeply flawed at high level. |

Yeah, that's kinda what I said. By acknowledging that CQC seems fast that means people are moving around a lot up close. If you want to see what fast is go play some Unreal Tournament or Quake. |

I don't think player speed in general is fast.
Now the strafe speed is another story. I do feel that strafing is too fast and along with low ADS tracking speeds and framerate issues causes aiming (especially with a shotgun) hard as ****. |

Honestly I think it was a mistake to nerf move speed. The strafe battles were awesome in chromosome. It took skill to kill people to were proficient at moving. I equip 5 basic plates to compete with caldari logi's and I have a 4.31 move speed vs their 4.7 even 5.0 on the assaults seem sluggish. Everything felt much faster paced in chromosome. I had much better success dodging murder taxis in chromosome.

Amen... I feel like i'm running through molasses in this game no matter where I go.
If anything we all need a 0.3-0.4 move speed increase!
OP just can't play shooters well and wants everyone nerfed till we stand still and wait for the 15s it takes for him to ADS us down. |

God I'd love CCP if they increased move speed. Make people have to aim, the nerf to move speed inadvertently swayed this game in the direction of a twitch shooter IMO. |

There is a problem with your idea. You are assuming that slowing people down will solve the hit detection problem. People are already complaining about certain instances where even stationary targets don't register any hits. What makes you think that slowing people down will solve it?
What CCP needs to do to fix this is by streamlining the data being sent between the client and server which is easier said than done. |

I disagree with overall movement speed, just bring the strafing speed back the pre-1.2. Strafing speed is way too high now. |
