Something I've noticed about Dust compared to other shooters is that players move and strafe too damn fast. Include in this bad hit detection and sluggish aiming that accelerates out of nowhere, it makes really hard to kill people without spraying and praying. If the client/servers are laggy by nature and can't be optimized then just reduce strafe speed and sprint speed. This will reduce the lag significantly because the client/server will have enough time to register movements and hits.

If it gets increased we will have even worse hit detection problems. Ever tried hitting a scout suit? Lots of bullets connecting but no damage. Well that's an advantage of being scout and with smaller body frame it makes the hit detection worse. Let's say both the heavy and scouts are fine, it's the medium suits that are too fast, and generally suffer from bad hit detection even though they shouldn't. |

I'm not, I'm serious. When you get to CQC everything goes crazy because the characters move too fast. Add bad hit detection and the framerate drops and you get into a **** fest. I swear this doesn't happens in games like Battlefield or CoD because the characters move slower.

Also, pretty sure CoD and Battlefield are faster paced...
No they ain't. I swear the guy at CoD moves at 5 m/s Dust speed when sprinting.

CQC feels too fast because your eyes can't make sense of fps going out of whack and the bad control input, but DUST is definitely a think and move paced game most of the time. That's because most of the time you are playing pubscum who stand still while they fire or run in straight, predictable lines. If you fight anyone decent, this is not the case. It becomes a tracking shooter with erratic movement. That would be fine, except hit detection is ass. This is compounded by terrible aim mechanics. The aim mechanics will probably get adjusted eventually, but the hit detection will always be screwed up due to server side involvement. So the game will always be deeply flawed at high level.
