I'm well aware that this change has been done because some people complained that the female avatar walks like, well, a hooker. I have yet to see the new animation and frankly, I don't care about it, but what if instead of everyone having the same animation, we were allowed to change it
Maybe some people actually like the current "sexy" animation(that includes women, not just perverts )
Well, I think people should have the freedom to choose their characters mannerisms. Like I don't know, have a "tough guy" pose/walk, or have my character always look bored out of his mind, maybe even have "flamboyant" animations, just stuff like that, so we can personalize our clones further.
Obviously it shouldn't be a priority, but I think it would be neat |

I'd love to see female avatars have a body shape that looks a bit more super-soldier-esque than what is obviously the default female body shape from EVE Online recycled into this game. |

Point still stands but if you want to be specific to the character modeling team how about its nice to see they are updating war barge walking animations over getting out the Minmatar, Gallente, and Caldari heavies or the Caldari and Amarr scout suits |

All the modeling team has to do is make sure it doesn't clip, but the model is already there, and unless there's a problem, there's no real reason for them to still be involved. Not sure what makes you think they're involved in the animation process.
edit: Wait, do we use mo-cap? Or am I just talking out my ass |

I was under the impression they didnt use mo cap in this game, the animations dont seem fluid enough in combat |

Dust's female model dont even look like super soldiers. I dont know why game devs make such a big deal about putting in female characters for their female players and then half assing it by putting in a petite model with a noticeable size difference compared to their male counterparts. They look more like runway models and would break in combat.
If you're not gonna do it right, then dont do it at all is what I'm saying to prominent FPS devs. |

Lol, you haven't seen very many women Marines then. There are plenty of petite, skinny little Marine women that can one shot your head with an M-16 just fine.
I don't recall this game involving heavy broadswords or lifting boulders unaided. |

Indeed, I remember a simpler time when video game girls were like Peach and knew their place in the castle and would bake cakes

my girlfriend would probably tell me she doesn't view video game walk animations as the battlefront for civil rights.
If it was, then I'm sure there should be tens of thousands of men lining up to complain that the image of male game models being stocky and muscular portrays a sexist stereotype gender image for men that most of their 150lb bodies/genetics can't live up to. Or that working out is too hard, or they have X medical condition and this is demeaning and objectifying or what have you.
Where's the representation for legal midgets or amputees? Not all humans fall into the range of 5-7 feet tall with all their arms, legs, fingers and toes. This reinforces the viewpoint that the human body should exist in some idealized media portrayal!
What else am I missing? |

It's late. I'm not sure how to tie in religion or sexuality to body image but maybe there's a way. Or maybe that way is a stereotype |
