Usually only time I wear a protosuit in a pubbie match is when I'm going AV.. It's one of those "Need max damage" instances.
Otherwise, it's ADV or STD.. Or one of my many freefits.. I tend to die entirely too much when I'm not trying to AV.. |

I alternate running proto with adv and cheapie suits with a LAV.
I have over 110 million isk so running proto ain't no thang to me.
sadly, advanced minnie suits are the same as proto minnnie suits for all intents and purposes. so really, it doesn't matter which one i wear. depends if i want to carry flux nades/adv REs or not. |

I actually love it when people run proto gear. I just sit back and watch all the militia people get killed then I swipe in and steal the kill with my tank. Especially if the proto guy hasn't died at all... Yum proto gear ^_^ |

A lot of fairly funny responses in this thread
Who cares what other people run in pub matches? they die all the same whether its being shot by a milita gun on a militia suit or a proto gun on a proto suit.
If you have fun doing something, then do it, regardless of what other people say. It's just a game. |

It seems like it would be such a waste of money to use your shiny gear in a battle that means nothing. I still to this day just wear militia gear to save money for when it matters. So tell me, why do you do it?
I agree with you myself. In that proto suits are very expensive in a insta battle, i myself started off dust with 20,000 aurom because of a code that for dust that came with ps3 i currently use the sever' minmatar logistics suit bp i has everything i need for logistics and battle in it. i understand the sever' part(i've played mag) and it costs nothing to restock it. |

It does get pointless to sit on a stockpile of fits and not use them. I have 2000 of my best proto swarm fit, so now even if I just want to just kill a free lav, i'll pull out that fit because I have so many of them. People have been saving long enough that I'm sure they feel the same way about their main fit. Some can even profit while using their best fit, of course I don't profit because I suck, but that's okay. |

I, actually laugh at people still wearing MLT gear. I don't even have an MLT combination...I deleted all of my starter fits. If you're not using ADV gear...or STD gear at the lowest, then something is off. I earned 1700 wps/22-0 & only earned $180K...that's ridiculous. And I'm not trying to be funny but when would you use a proto suit this build? Because I haven't seen your corp in pc and we dont have corporate contract battles anymore.
I used to run proto gear only if I saw that the enemy brought it out. But now, CCP changed it so that the only good nanos are prototypes that are 50 CPUs and higher. I can't even fit some of my items on a C-1 series fit. |

People just run militia gear to justify how bad they are at the game. "Whelp... I may suck but it only cost me 30k ISK to die those 20 times!"
IMO there is no reason to run militia gear after about 3 hours in this game, you should already be in standard gear at that point.
If you are still running militia gear outside of the academy, you deserve to get destroyed by my duvolle. |

The theory of proto stomping. Solo proto stomping is counterproductive and difficult, but squad proto stomping is quite lucrative. The theory stems from an idea of being efficient. In ambush, the win is based on clone count so the faster the count depletes the sooner the match ends, faster matches means more sp and more isk over time. The point is to use proto gear in conjunction, with team strategy to blitz. This reduces losses, increases gains. |

Most of the Proto runners have plenty of it. Besides, what's the point of spending millions of SP and ISK to getting it, if you are not going to use it? |

Why not?
Some of us go to the frontline. We enjoy fierce opposition. I can kill 5 or 6 guys in a basic suit. Die. Wait to spawn. Run back to battle. or i can slap on a proto suit kill 10 guys, take cover and rep back to 100% hp and kill more. usually die under heavy barrage of AR fire after i've run out of ammo. |

When PFBH or IMPs would be rollin proto i noticed half the team switches to militia. Stupid if you ask me. I would prefer they AFK. At least then they are not serving up the game on a platter. |

After uprising I had something like 250 million ISK dropped into my account. I used it to buy thousands of proto suits, proto forges, and proto SMG's. I also picked up tens of thousands of the most common modules. Along with a few thousand hacked AV grenades.
I don't see the need to wear anything other than proto, and my wallet is only getting fatter. |

Well I assume most of you have been playing a lot longer then I have because I don't have the hundreds of millions in isk to throw away in instant battles. For those of you that do though, at some point that money will run out. Most of the time people wearing proto gear take a heavy loss in money after a match. The only exception to this is when there is a top name corp squaded up or a heavy in full proto gear camping in the inclosed part of the map.
Don't you guys get upset when someone in militia gear is roflstomping you? I'm actually more curious now because I haven't even worn proto gear yet. |

Lol yup.
But seriously, all the people claiming that 'people who use protosuits are wimps who would get rocked otherwise' are just dumb. I use proto all the time because I want to play on the top of my game all the time, and can afford it. If people sporting militia suits want to 3v1 me and still lose, that's their deal. |
