is that they take us back to the time when all grenades had 2 second fuses. Remember how fun that was? not!!!! Every skilless noob with an R1 button racked up kills because of a cheap mechanic, and a supposedly hardcore shooter turned into a First Person Nader.
Now its only the guys with high SP and proto nades who get to be part of the easy OHK Club. You cant possibly think that was a good idea CCP. All easy use weaopns should be wound rather than kill. How those nades do more than 200 damage is beyond me. Murder Taxis, Flaylocks and all the other noob tubes are killing this game. |

CCP should just have an instant kill skill. It costs 5 million SP and at level 5 every time you fire your weapon it instant kills everyone in the match with less SP then you. |

If you spent the skill points to skill into something that deep, it should be more powerful.
I don't understand how the flaylock is a noob tube, the weapon has drawbacks that even the playing field with it and it doesn't even become a great weapon until you reach proto with it, the std and adv flaylocks are pretty garbage honestly.
Mlt murder taxis are a joke as well, the good murder taxis are running proto in that as well, I can destroy a mlt taxi with one flux and two flaylock shots or just two std AV nades.

CCP must do a better job rewarding player skill. still too many weapons that have splash damage close to full damage. give players an incentive to hit the target rather than shooting at their feet. |

I dont have an issue with contact grenades but like stated they should be lower damage than timed ones. they cant be 700 damage and contact. thats a horrible mixture and grenade 514 in that earlier build was a joke. |

You have no idea how difficult it is to actually hit a target with the Flaylocks travel time. If it had half the damage for splash damage, then it would be difficult to kill anyone (that isn't a scout) and impossible to kill just one heavy with two CORE Flaylocks.
That's with the top tier Flaylock. Imagine with the lesser ones. It would make the weapon usless.

I think CCP should make weaker version of those grenades, weaker than the militia and do that for each tier. |

The fact that a militia shotgun does the same thing for (mostly) free is clearly lost on people hating on the flaylock.
Those are the people who've never actually fired it of course.
P.S. Militia shotty's get 6 rounds to OHKO you with. = )
...but by all means, remove the flaylock and give my my SP back. When I'm shooting your face off with a protopistol, do the same with that.
I'll move to the SMG... eventually we won't have sidearms.

I remember being a top of the leaderboard player in RS3 simply because I knew where to throw grenades at the start of every match so that I would bag 1-3 kills every time. If you get killed by grenades in this game with such an open map you either need to HTFU or GETGUD. Simple as that. Contact grenades are not a problem in DUST.

I'm torn. I know they're broken but as a Logibro, contact nades help patch up the Assault MD's weakness(the only viable MD) so well that I don't want it to go. Remote Explosives and Flux Nades need prep, so in instant CQC, contact nades are the only thing keeping you alive. |

The flaylock is good against lower level players, but against higher level players it is np better than the other sidearms. It does a lot of damage in a short amount of time, but if it does not kill them theu can easily kill you during the reload. |

It would make the weapon usless. Go ahead to try it for your self. Try NOT shoot at feet and see how well you do. The Flaylock is NOT OP. I'm just killing too many people with it. (^_^)
You are wrong. I have tested flaylock damage in the past. What you are probably seeing is the large damage reduction against shields. |

Anyone using contact nades or a flaylock is a nub. What you need to do is carry dual flaylocks with contact nades on a miny assult suit with a 12 % speed mod. Yea its kinda broken in cqb. |

hes right short fuse grenades ruined gameplay in an earlier build, contact grenades for higher SP players only makes this game more noob unfriendly than it already is. if those wpns are going to be that easy to use they should be very low damage. CPM Cazaderon warned us months ago when there was only an aur version.
other members of the CPM warned us about flaylocks during fanfest. they are a perfect example of why u dont tune any game with the unskilled or average skill user in mind. becuz then the skilled user breaks the game. its the new mass driver. in its current form the flaylock is a sidearm that can outperform most primary weapons. do u think that was what designers had in mind? a pistol that can 2 shot heavies? with its damage youd be a fool not to use it. and everyone is.
the worst part is not only does it cheapen gameplay, but it promotes copycating and kills customization. why create a character for your playstyle when a certain loadout [cough, logi + primary+ flaylock] dominates everything else. It turns the game into a place where everyone has to play the same way or risk being dominated. |

not really, all they are doing is taking advantage of FOTM weapons that dominate. The nubs are CCP for putting stuff like that into the game and thinking everyone wont be using it in a week. |

CCP is actually watching the logs for kills made with contacts nades before considering an adjustment? It's a good thing they are watching these nades but it also sounds like they are going to ignore the arguments against these contact grenades for the moment?
Should we just bring out the contact nades exclusively for a day to make a point? |

if they are waiting for overall metrics the numbers will lie horribly. PC is the highest level of gameplay and this is where they dominate. high sp players dont have to use them in pub matches against players they can easily dominate due to gear differential alone.
many players have advised us [and we've seen as well] PC has become a place where u either master the use of contact grenades or u lose. |

I agree with this. no weapon in the game should have splash damage thats even half of what the direct damage is. if a proto forge does 4k damage u cant be doing more than 100-150 with splash. you cant be rewarding people for missing. |

The problem with contacts is that it removes the player skill requirement of grenades. I can't think of any other weapon that does this. You're spending SP to counter a lack of skill, rather than getting an advantage that will compliment your skill. |
