camping in this game is hard at best. you may get a few kills, but then people take notice, and soon your cover is blown, and you will get shot sticking in one place with your sniper. even on or in the mcc, you can and will die |

I hadn't noticed different backgrounds on the avatars before. Must vary by bloodline.
Edit: or is it gender? Hmm...
Oh, camping? I guess that's, uh, heinous or something. Also completely ineffectual in most instances. I don't know. I'm not sure whether people consider keeping a defensive perimeter around objectives camping these days or whether you need to have your arse firmly planted somewhere to qualify. |

There is a difference between camping, defending, and sniping.
Camping - Sitting in one area to farm easy kills with minimal effort. An example would be sitting in a high traffic area killing the already "damaged" players moving through the area, or sitting in close proximity to the objective and killing anyone who comes near.
Defending - Actively protecting an area from enemy forces. An example would be patrolling the area around the objective and watching the radar for enemies who stray into your designated "defend zone."
Sniping - Plopping down, get a few kills, move on. An example would be sitting far off on some buskwookie mountain and getting a few kills but then MOVING ON. IMO sniping does not mean set up camp on a mountain 20 miles away for the entirety of the match; sniping involves some movement. The purpose of the sniper is psychological warfare, you want to scare the enemy forces and make them paranoid while on the move so they can never quite pinpoint your exact location. |

That ends the thread but I'll add a bit anyways.
Anyone that says there isn't a difference is full of BS. Campers are only concerned with padding their kdr and defenders (and snipers as described above) are concerned with helping their team win. |

Technically aren't all snipers campers?
Also standing around a spawn point that is in the open and killing anyone who spawns out is a good way not to die.
At least 30% of all my deaths are from getting killed while hacking something....eventually you get sick of it and stand back and just kill the people who would have killed you if you tried to hack it. |

When I'm camping a hundred or so meters away from the objective in my tank, I am absolutely ASTOUNDED that no one notices me. There are plenty of people who just offer themselves to the Sacrifice Chamber (objective hacking point), and sometimes when I'm really lucky, I can just sit on top of my hill and kill seven or eight people all of whom just run right into the objective.

What's wrong with that? Cutting off someone's escape/advancement is a good tactic, and the other thing you mentioned is called guarding.

I understood what you wrote and understood what you meant it to say.
It is verbal diarrhea that says nothing only filling space. It could have been meant as a clumsy transition but it does not even do that. It just sits there like a pile of **** stinking up your already pointless paragraph.
You even gave the translation that proves how pointless it is "it more hard, CCP still do."
It also defies simple logic. The harder something is to achieve the less possible it is to achieve it.
You should not be criticizing anyone's intelligence or writing prowess. |

I think you have restricted yourself with terminology.
Spawn Camping is where one party knows the spawn location of another and actively fires into it in order to get easy kills. Abuse usually occurs were one party discovers the location of an auto spawn (CRU or Auto deploy) and stays far enough away that the game does not relocate it.
Camping an area/ objective or Defending an area/ objective are interchangeable ideas where the purpose is to prevent access and entry into said region.
Tears usually flow from people being spawn camped. If you wander into an objective without paying attention, and die, it is your own fault. |
