That was an odd question, and I'm slightly offended that my quote had to get snipped for it. Good day sir, and if you ask me again the only response you'll get is: "I SAID GOOD DAY!" |

Aisha Ctarl wrote: Defending - Actively protecting an area from enemy forces. An example would be patrolling the area around the objective and watching the radar for enemies who stray into your designated "defend zone." Sniping - Plopping down, get a few kills, move on. An example would be sitting far off on some buskwookie mountain and getting a few kills but then MOVING ON. sniping involves some movement. The purpose of the sniper is psychological warfare, you want to scare the enemy forces and make them paranoid while on the move so they can never quite pinpoint your exact location. This is my job Well said friend. |

The difference is pretty simple, are you near your own stuff killing anyone that draws near or are you sitting with an enemy clone bank in your sights just waiting for some poor bastards to spawn |

No camping equipment, but it was as close as it can get. |

Camping is more prevalant when the ttk (time to kill) is very small, so the innitial "i see you first i kill you first" works in cod or bf, but not in dust. Due to protogear, mostly. |

What's the difference between camping and defending???
I mean....isn't defending just a part of war and a way better strategy then runnin with the blueberry herd? What's the bfd? If you don't know the difference between defending and camping, this far into the FPS genre popularity, then it's completely over your head. |

Camping is doing nothing close to objectives, defending is being on an obj defending that area |

I think you have restricted yourself with terminology.
Spawn Camping is where one party knows the spawn location of another and actively fires into it in order to get easy kills. Abuse usually occurs were one party discovers the location of an auto spawn (CRU or Auto deploy) and stays far enough away that the game does not relocate it.
Camping an area/ objective or Defending an area/ objective are interchangeable ideas where the purpose is to prevent access and entry into said region.
Tears usually flow from people being spawn camped. If you wander into an objective without paying attention, and die, it is your own fault. |
