Not much of an infantryman myself, I'm making this thread for tin foil hat speculation on the upcoming Commando suit.
Two light weapon slots'll make this a very versatile suit, but I'm hoping that it gives up considerable tank in order to acheive this versatility. Swarm / Cannon for both close and far AV, or AR / Sniper for taking an objective, then laying shots across the field for the next objective would be pretty cool shtuffsh. |

Im hoping they release the discussed place holders so I can spec a gallente commando.
I do like the idea of a SL/PC assault rifle combo. |

Commando opens up options for Swarm users to roll with the front line and not have to rely on their side arm.
This concept alone makes me very happy. |

I can't wait. I'm dedicated AV (Swarms) and this would help me sooo much. Although if I can't fit at least 2 dmg mods it'll be useless for me. |

This concept alone makes me very happy. I'm just hoping that it's balanced with some downside. Kinda hoping for a glass cannon, but there could be other faults that would be partially remedied with further Commando skilling (like reduced ammo capacity, -50% base, +5% per level). |

Some kind of fault that would partially be recompensed through further suit skilling. |

Definetly should sacrifice the equipment slot. Otherwise we'd see groups of snipeswarmers load into dropships, park on a tower, and just go nuts on anything that moves, lives, and breathes xD |

If I were to use this suit I would need a supply depot... Oh and less CPU and PG. I think that would help. Also maybe a bit slower (Since it's a heavy suit after all) |

I just hope Commando wont be as tanky as a heavy. Bad enough that heavies can absorb butt shots then turn around and return fire with enough hp to win a gunfight. |

First off, go watch the new trailer, they show you the damn suit. It is a heavy suit, never going to be glass cannon. As for drawbacks, it has the opposite of the other heavy suits, it has equipment, but no nades. Considering everyone up to this point has had nades, and they are used by everyone and seen as needed, not just luxury like equipment is, this could be a pretty significant drawback. But it is balanced out by 2 light weapons. |

Considering the Commando takes TWO light weapons this suit is going to eat a lot CPU and PG. You're not going to be able to stack the sort of mods you normally would. So right off the bat you're going to be at a shield or armor disadvantage than a medium or normal heavy. |

A heavy that can't even hold a HMG? I laugh at the idea.
I only see this being useful for: AVers, frontline/counter snipers (probably to also bring an AR in both cases) And remember, you'll be losing mobility for this. |

Light weapons take up a good chunk of resources, god knows how limiting the fitting options will be with two of those things. |

I think a big possibility being missed is running dual of the same weapon, with a quick weapon switch you've effectively doubled the clip size. Being able to launch twice as many swarms, stay in a firefight twice as long, could be interesting to figure out the rock to it's scissors. |

The biggest problem here as that there was talk of making them slower than normal heavies....
The brief video clip we got with the LOL proto(?)(hahahhahahaha) suit, and it had about 400 less base EHP. If you make the slowest and easiest to hit suit, slower, and easier to hit....with less health.....
Having two light weapons is all well and good, cool even, versatile; it doesn't help you survive a fight in most cases. Having less HP is completely fine by me, but not at the cost of mobility. When talking the biggest easiest to hit, slowest suit in the game, any further reduction in speed HAS to be met with an INCREASE in health, not a decrease.
And I would happily ditch the equipment slot if it meant a realistic slot layout :/ |

If you watch the fight your own war trailer you see what is i believe to be the proto commando suit. At 1:35 you see the load-out allows 2 high slots, 1 low slot, 2 light weapons. and 1 equipment. at about 1:40 you see it has less EHP than a standard heavy suit. But couldn't find anything on speed. |

Based on the stats in the video, CPU/PG won't be that big of an issue. If proto really has 2 hi and 1 low slot, you may even have some to spare. |
