Any parent who showed any concern about this can change the age settings on the playstation, and that limits access to chatrooms and headset channels. If a parent doesn't do this then thats their problem. Its not my job to babysit other peoples kids |

I got on right before downtime this morning and joined a squad of squeakers in academy (I'm make alts for academy to help new players, promise ) trying to show them how to play basically, the best I could do was teach them how to place a defend order, they spent the whole of their time crashing vipers and complaining about how long it takes to kill people lol |

This is good. I think more people should help out the children in the academy, but I wish we could help them improve their etiquette too, though I know this is nearly impossible. There should be an established etiquette code or something for Dust 514 for the children. Blame it on the parents and Disney shows, huh.

More kids are coming to gaming consoles and playing games that are really not suitable to them at that age, seriously eight year olds playing COD and GTA? What makes it worse is that they are not sensible enough to play games that would require them to work with others, but sure on COD it is more of a game where you can go out and kill the other team without any help (I do ditch the team because they are either useless and annoying and I carry the team occasionaly.) but on games like Dust, Battlefield and TLOU, teamwork is a necessity to winning games and especially on Battlefield I hear little kids on my squad all the time when I play by myself and not with friends, but I did ask one squeaker to at least help the squad but I all I got was "LOL who is this guy asking me to be useful? I'm being good for the team already". I want ammo and I never get it. TLOU however i occasionally get the odd squeaker but they usually stick with their friend(s) and I just stick with them to get the parts for being a team player. Thankfully I don't see this in Dust which would be especially annoying just like Battlefield. |

My only small concern is that the in-game text and even the mic does not filter the profanity like the forum here. I personally don't think children should play FPS games at all, especially Dust. It's just my thought. How do some of you feel about this? Lol this should be posted to all game cos you said FPS games |

First off I supervise my child when she plays. Rules are no chatting, no MIC, and just have fun. She is very mature for her age and has done very well in the game. I believe as a parent if you raise them correctly the fear of them doing something stupid will always be there, but you know in your heart that you can trust them. So far my trust has not been broken. I tell her act like a mature adult you get treated like a mature adult. Its all about raising your children for respect of others and to enjoy life. I believe if the child is immature they should not play, but if the child is mature beyond there age supervise them and have fun playing beside them. |

Christ, let the kids play. I mean yes it sucks when I encounter the real annoying squeakers on the headset. but I mute them.
Despite their squeakiness and often outright moronic questions, the kid just want to have fun. You can actually turn some of them into decent teammates by answering some of their questions.
But yes, although I've listed positives we also have the CoD and BF3 Kids that hate yet play DUST. |
