For the sake of not messing up the balance, leave the ground kills to mercs, ground vehicles, and dropships.

Ah, a coherent response from someone at last! We boost missile speed and not only LAVs but especially HAV and dropship pilots are now are much easier to kill. Breaks our precarious balance completely. Why even start down that road? Glassing planets is one of those ideas devs throw out when they're really REALLY drunk.

Perhaps they could intercept them? That would certainly help the guys on the ground.
