So the pilot dropsuits are something that we've been told might be in the near future... I'm just wondering what kind of buffs will it have to make it worth it? I'm thinking w're going to have to drop a couple hundred thousand to over a mil SP for a suit that does what? What will this thing do that makes me divert my SP from my vehicle skills? Not to mention the cost it will add to getting blown up.
I think the key to these suits could be vehicle enhancing modules, but we're still going to be talking a big SP sink away from the already high cost of the vehicle skills.
Any thoughts? What would make you drop a mil SP into a tree you currently have no need for? |

We've been told we'd be getting Pilot suits SoonGäó since the closed beta. Don't get your hopes up. |

I'm curious why I should get my hopes up in the first place. I'm not seeing their purpose. Do I really want a 1mil SP suit for a 5% buff to torque or some other minor aspect? Are they going to buff a major aspect? How would a suit be worth it without becoming OP and mandatory for all vehicle users? Just speculating on where CCP could be going with it. |

@ OP: One of their buffs will be reducing the cooldown time of vehicle modules, there are other effects, but not many details are knowm. |

I'd be happy with the reduced cooldown, might be interesting to balance though, perma large armor reppers would be scary |

they are coming in early July in 1.2 and they give more WP for actions and increase module efficiency of vehicles. it needs lv 2 drop suit command, then lv3 (3x) light frame Gallante or Minimatar then its the Pilot drop suit skill itself (5x I think). |

What I want to is some serious ground speed. Give me 70 shields and 70 armour, that's fine. But I need to be able to get to a good spot to spawn my vehicle ASAP.
In Ambush often you need to run to the edge of the map so RDVs do not hit building and to reduce the risk of getting your vehicle stolen by a near enemy. Skirmish. well every mode really; you need to get to a spot away from the free LAV storm that will be clouding the skies thus reduce the risk your real vehicle gets RDVed by a friendly call in. Or get out of LOS of potential rail snipers.
So some faster then scout speed please. Thanks. |

Because it would allow anyone to call in a decent vehicle and play well, but separate the serous vehicles users from the average. It would allow them to move vehicle Buffs to the suit itself. So in some way a PRO vehicle is made with a pilot suit and ADV vehicle. Think of the flexibility this would give and the value increase to real pilots, not just those who maxed AR so skilled a bit of HAV. |

I'm not entirely sure, but it was hinted in a thread about 2 months ago that they would help potential pilots/drivers afford their vehicles. Not sure if this is an isk increase while wearing the suit or not. I didn't like that idea because people would just wear it and farm isk, I had suggested the idea that if you lose a vehicle while wearing the suit that if you scored enough WP that you would get a 1 time use BPC for the militia version for each vehicle you lost. |

But attaching the buff to the vehicle command skill would make more sense. Similar to the way LLAVs and Enforcers(even though those buffs are bad and should feel bad for it) already are. Why add a branch in an unrelated skill tree when you could just enhance and deepen the current tree.

I enjoy the idea of making the pilot suit the buff, that way only true HAV users get to 'have' (see what i did there) the power. What they really need is bonuses to PG, torque, damage, resitance, and CPU all in the suit, while making it worse than a mlt scout in combat. |

It could be made more interesting by being able to fit modules to the suit that affect the vehicle rather than the suit e.g. A neural computer that increases turret speed or target lock (on other vehicles). |

Any effort to make the pilot suit help the dropships pilots out there will only plunge the HAV even further into being really really hard to kill. |

Not unless the pilot dropsuit gives bonuses to specific vehicle class ie... HAV 20% reduction to weapon cooldown LAV 25% increase to speed Dropship 20% increase to shield or armor resistance
... although the LAV's speed increase would only make a better murder taxi. |
