None of the devs/CPM's play as DS pilot, right?

CCP Blam insist that dropships are his favorite vehicle but I feel that is a sarcastic remark but I have no proof of it. I will fly an assault dropship because of the controls alone but even at 10 million spread out I can't focus on getting higher tier stuff yet. Remaining Core Skills to train: Vehicle Shield Upgrades (4/5) Vehicle Armor Upgrades (4/5) Vehicle Electronics (1/5) Vehicle Engineering (1/5) After capping these out then I can start focusing on getting specializations done.

What is your issue with the controls? Other than how the front turret is handled with that readjusting camera (and the gunner-turret bugs CCP happily ignores) I think the controls are pretty much perfect. IMO the only thing that's not screwed up about DS.

It would have been entirely different had they actually freaking scaled, and railguns weren't as simple to use as they are in relation to their damage and knockback effect (this applies to forge guns, but to a lesser extent) Amusingly, flying low to avoid rail gun fire only opens you up to all the mystical magnetic AV grenades that everyone and their logi is carrying because of Gokart 514 It literally bothers me even talking about it, so I'm done with this for now.

IMO the only thing that's not screwed up about DS. They uninstalled the flight control computer from the damn things back in codex. Then for the longest time a 1 mph landing would kill you. So I stopped being able to use the dropship to drop $%^# or pick up people. Sure you can barrel roll back flip and the sorts but you couldn't fly underneath any of the warehouses anymore without blowing up and in the end none of the fancier moves saved you from a forge gun hit (after they unnerfed the forge gun range to that of less of an AR) Essentially precision controls which is what made the original dropship fun for me was entirely removed in favor of over extended and lagged controls. Dropship at full speed takes way too long to stop or alter crose to avoid an obstacle. For example I can try to stop in mid air or adjust flight path to try to avoid an object not yet drawn yet and still slam into it because the controls are that unresponsive. Also my own gunners get me killed more than anything these days, its bad enough I have to fight the ship its worse I have to fight them shooting me and it causes weirder flight conditions. .

Core skills affect everything regardless of what race you pick or specialization. So it is critical for an omni to max those out first.

The CPM cant just magically wave a wand and bend CCP to their will. In essence, they are mediators; a sort of focusing lense. Just because an incredible HAV pilot gets into the CPM, HAVs arent ever going to just change because of that. While having personal experience will always boost the weight of your opinion on the subject, at the end of the day, its just that; your opinion. I feel its far more important for members of CPM to be able to identify players who not only possess in game skill, but are able to translate that skill into usefull feedback. They need to be able to get a feel for current trends, and entertain both the positive and negative feedback on any given subject. That doesnt meen they need to answer all your threads (in general, not directing this at the op, just this mentality in general) , or agree with all your views; they need to observe and deliberate
