I'm having a blast and saving my top gear for when it really matters, see you on the battle field.

I really do enjoy running cheaper fits and having actual 1v1 gunfights that last for awhile, ducking behind cover and trying to outsmart another maybe better player.

It's a lot more fun playing with a cheaper suit, especially when you get orbitals dropped specifically on you in games... Which seems to happen to me 2-3 times a night in pubs. Less stress knowing you aren't losing money almost every match, and my performance hasn't changed much at all. Yeah the proto suit is better but you can still wreck with an adv suit no problem. This game is skill > gear in a lot of ways, its just hard to see that cause the ones with skill are the ones with the gear too.

I had a blast in the academy running starter fits with a diff toon. I think if the blues had good comms techniques (and a mic) they would be having more fun and less qqing.

Since the respec, every man and his Dust dog have specced into shield tanking and Assault / Logi. As a consequence, a sniper needs the proto setup for the cpu/pg required to run 3 complex damage modules, a decent rifle, nano hives and low power modules of your choice. I run 3x complex damage modules, a charge sniper rifle and SR proficiency lv. 5, and anyone in proto gear requires 2 hits to drop. I dread to imagine what sniping in militia gear would be like.

I could run my pc fit and go 18/0 18/2 and be bored out of my mind and say OHH!! look at me I'm on top of the leaderboard again, I'm great! Or I can run a mid grade fit and have some real fun and use some real game skill in a fair fight in pubs. Again this is for the people who want a good game not the ones who have everything and don't know how to use it.

What I usually use... Skinweave heavy BPO, one militia damage mod, one militia armor repair, militia SMG, militia locus grenades, and a militia Forge Gun. Both are fun to use, I just stress less when I loose the Skinweave/Militia fit and have more fun.

If feels like once you get there you never need to go back. However I agree ive been starting to use toxin gun and dragonfly suit to keep costs way down. It is very rewarding taking out protos with millitia or toxin stuff :)

I used to care about kdr, but why? I get run over, spawn killed, any litany of random and uncontrollable ways to die, so whatever. I will proto in a PC battle because it increases survivability and the PC battles mean something, to me at least; some may differ. In general I will run proto in pubs if my opponents are also GIANTs or other EoN guys. Otherwise, the BPO fit for me so I can save mint to funny into my latest alt.

Proto gears gives me the advantage and I love seeing 3-4 std, adv lvl guys rush me to try and take me out. Makes the game fun for me. It's not that I get off with the scoreboard but that you want to be on equal ground with everyone and you kind of expect that everyone will bring their best gear. But unless the protobear is running full shield mods then you should have no problems flanking him...

It's my team mates and newbs that are not well equipped to fight these protobears and bunnies. Like, if you know how the current state of the game is and why we don't get more players to play. Why the **** will you use proto gear just to crush a new player dream? I do blame CCP for not implementing things to prevent this but players can also just use advance gear when you at least pub stomping...

I am more bothered that I died, not that I lost some in game currency :P. Sadly I am trying to raise my KDR, never got any in Chromosone as I exclusively played Skirmish, getting 0.1 KDR added a night atmo though :).

I try my damnedest to put up a good fight until the end. There are some matches where the randoms are just too horrible and I'll resort to a BPO sniper fit.
