Neither is better all the time. I don't have the information required to compare DPS objectively. I don't know the rate of fire on the core flaylock. I suspect that two guns switch off overall damage output more than once over the course of a 10 second engagement. I also suspect that the flaylock does more damage past 10 seconds. Not sure I lagree with a sidearm ultimately doing more damage than a light in a similar role, but ultimately it isn't THAT broken. The radius is 2/3rds the size.
What isn't OK is the PG requirements of the Core Flaylock. Two? The Freedom is 14. There is no real reason to NOT fit a core flaylock on a side arm slot. The PG cost is so low that 5 ranks of Flaylock Fitting Optimization does not have an effect on the overall PG cost of the weapon. |

MD got nerfed and bugged. The core flaylock is pretty solid while the others are pretty meh. I think the Toxin SMG is still the best sidearm. |

Because the Flaylock's splash damage is nearly identical to its direct damage also its base reload speed is 2.5 seconds, the AR with rapid reload level 5 is 2.55 seconds. |

Fiddle the RoF is crazy fast, fundies i think from hellstorm was ******* me up with it when we were cb'ing in PFBHz yo. It's like automatic. and because the splash is almost the same...it's op as hell compared to md. |

Core Flaylocks have the fastest TTK on armor suits outside of OHKO's, which are pretty rare. I've quite literally died to them almost before I even knew I was being shot at; by the time the first hit registers the next is almost at you already. But that has as much to do with the (excessive?) damage bonus explosives have against armor as it does with the weapon itself.
Sure 3 rounds can be rough but conveniently enough it doesn't actually have to hit you. It has a quick reload as well.
I've never used them so I won't pretend to have the best understanding of them, but the RPM appears to be kind of high. It's not listed though so I can't actually compare it and the MD's. From the "getting shot at" side of things, it appears to shoot 2 to 3 times faster than the MD. |
