So all this time, the EVE contingent on these forums have confused me. They constantly argue against things that would improve the game, tirelessly defend CCP's mistakes and missteps, and continuously cheerlead things that water down and otherwise negatively impact the core FPS gameplay.
But then I remembered something I heard once. Most EVE players don't like the idea behind Dust to begin with. I'm sure there are quite a few reasons for this, but I imagine at it's heart is that they don't want console newbs and CoDbois pissing in their cornflakes and potentially ruining their immaculate spreadsheets.
So, how would an EVE player respond to this new, existential threat to their perfect little world? Infiltrate and destroy it from the inside.
Of course. It all makes sense now. |

You realize there is a major war going on now, right? It's likely to last all summer and consist of fights with thousands of players shooting each other. A lot of EVE players would like to see Dust play a part in Sov wars. |

Although its unintentional its true, CCP has taken a lot of advice from EVE players who don't have much console FPS experience. That's why we have KBM when CCP originally said they wouldn't have it. Its why we have jump stamina, why we have slow stafing speeds etc. |

Jumping needs to be limited for that reason, yes. But it shouldn't be on stamina. Some suits have enough stam to bunny hop all day long, it seems. Others have so little that by the time they run across the street they have no stamina left to jump over the 1 foot curb. Kinda sucks when that happens. Just sitting there in the open waiting for stamina to regen so you can jump over a ledge that's so low it should be possible to walk over. |

This is an obvious troll post. As you don't really make an argument, you're just stating what you believe to be facts without any evidence. You also use some ill informed stereotypes based on your own negative assumptions on how you are percieved. I'd wager you suffer from extreme self confidence issues.
Nobody cares you came from consoles or from eve. Sure, it's fun to poke fun and tease, but nobody takes it seriously, well almost no-one.
Nor can you really say that its eve players who are ruining the game. The eve players who play dust are technically dust players. We didn't come here to ruin the game. We came here because we find Eves pvp mechanics too time intensive or because we like FPS's too.
We are all brothers and sisters here, we all like this game or at least want this game to grow and succeed. Why you attack us bro?
FYI: Ive played eve since 2006 and played planetside since 2003. I was one of the top 10 players on TR werner. I stopped playing planetside after the BFR catastophy that ruined the game.

If we had the freedom like EVE players do, we would revolt and destroy their ships from the inside. Dust 514 equivalent of the Jita riots. |

The reasons people say bunny hopping is bad is because no one shoots a gun while jumping. The thing is this is a VIDEO GAME not real life, we are playing mercenaries in outerspace and presumably in the future they are wearing super advanced suits that are for all we know capable of improving our aim. These guys are "immortal" soldiers and the longer they are soldiers they gain the experience to control to the point they could maintain aim while jumping.
Having bunny hopping and fast strafe speeds separate player skill levels because it is very difficult to maintain your aim on your target when they are strafing and jumping while you're also strafing and jumping. Yes bad hit detection and lag make high strafing speeds seem bad but thats on CCP to improve. No offense to anyone but if you can't kill someone because they are jumping then honestly you just need more practice. I've been playing FPS games competitively for almost a decade and I've acquired the twitch reflexes to aim while strafing and it just takes time.
By CCP lowering strafe speeds and reducing bunny hopping they put a greater importance on player SP level instead of player skill level. |

It's monkey hard to successfully charge people for bunny hopping, or hiding, or successfully placing uplinks, so those game mechanics had to go. |

Yeah but CCP's hardly the only company to place limits on bunny hopping. When's the last time you played an FPS that didn't have some kind of limiter on it? Seems pretty standard now, and I'm fine with that.
