I work in programming and I am a QA tester. I can tell you that CCP coming from Eve were not experienced into making a FPS, and that they only knew how to crunch the numbers on EvE.

They released this too soon, even in its beta form. They rushed it out because they probably sold a pitch to Sony that was over-inflated, and to a point are trying to delay the anger of the community by using a girl that never played Dust to be its customer relation.

If you hire a community manager that has no idea about the game, it shows the state of the game.

If you judge the balancing of weapons during a match between devs, thats also an issue.

Now I understand there are some issues with the game, I'm far from saying its perfect but I guess I don't see the point in coming here to express my opinion and instead of being tactful I rip ccp's head off and spit down there throat.

Regardless of the issues in game, I still have fun playing and enjoy the overall concept of the game. Yes I want some changes and they've all been expressed here so I see no point in berating CCP with a negative attitude while they work on the fixes.

Give them sound advice for issues you notice and be patient for gods sake, if CCP could implement a fix to something you mentioned during downtime, I'm sure they would have, if they didn't then there is probably a reason beyond there control.... Coming here and bashing everything about the game, devs etc. is not helpings anything or anybody, it in fact makes you look pretty dumb...

I overlooked the "grateful" parts because I understand where you're coming from and I'll give you some slack. This part, however, I have to bring up. Most EVE players vary only in degree with respect to the severity of our Asperger's. We get very excited when we see numbers and can't wait to theorycraft.

I wasn't really pointing to the armor mods, I was pointing at all the YouTube vid screamers, this isn't the first time people flipped a lid based on gameplay they've seen in vids, uprising vids were pretty bad for that... People were claiming op before they even touched the stuff.

You know, you don't have to be a fanboy or a brand new alt to enjoy the game. I still enjoy the game... regardless of all the faults that get kvetched about endlessly.

I was lolng at the excuse part of it when peeps start making up excuses for the game when it shouldnt need players to defend it.

I wasn't making excuses, I was making observations... My observations weren't even really about the game so much as it was the forum warriors.... Only thing I really said about the game was that I enjoy it.

Those guys having tantrums in general aren't really saying anything useful. They're so focused on their agenda they're unable to make any sort of reasonable analysis. They're so dependent on hyperbole instead of reason to get attention, they can't let themselves be publicly seen making a intelligent suggestion.

Dust 514 has a lot of problems that need to be fixed, and the sooner the ranting babies get tired and cry themselves to sleep, the sooner we can have useful discussions. If Dust 514 really was as terrible as they say they were, they wouldn't be spending their time here making demands. They'd be playing something else.

What haven't they handled? HMG's were broke, CCP gave them a buff.... Tar was "OP", CCP gave it a dispersion nerf.

Seriously though, the "point" is often lacking in the hater threads. Complaining that everything sucks is not going to give anybody any insight into what needs fixing. I'm not suggesting that everyone has to be happy that these issues are happening but I would like to see threads at least contain details -- and it would be a bonus if they didn't include conspiracy theories at the same time.

Posting something without the hater rhetoric will let a lot of folks who aren't 13 years old participate in a discussion of the issues... perhaps offer something approaching a bit of insight. Now, I know there are strong feelings about who should or should not be listened to but I think that is a bit of a waste of everyone's energy.

Most people are going to find that what happens is not exactly what they wanted. It doesn't mean people who don't feel exactly as I do are the reason for all that ails the world. CCP has their own view of the direction this game will take... and we're in their playground.

GÇóArchaic FPS mechanics and game play. It seems CCP tried to reinvent the wheel. Except, like all other developers, realized that at the end of the day, a wheel must always be a 360-¦ circle. So, it now feels like I have traveled back in time and that I am playing a prototype multiplayer game from 2004 or something.


If people wonder why we complain so much, because there ARE issue with this game. They are made even more obvious when you are coursed into specializing into a class. Unlike other games, if your main weapon/suit is nerfed, you can't just switch out to another class, easily. So of course people that specialized are going to be angered that their class is not performing well, among other classes.

P.C is a joke. People used to argue who was going to be in the match, when PC first came out. Now people play 'not it', as PC is a bit of a chore (rookies get stuck with it).

Bugs, they are out there and every update, for every 2 bugs removed 3 are introduced (or,at least that is how it feels).

No we will NOT talk only good things about this game, just so we can trick rookies into playing so we can have easy kills. I am not recommending this game to anyone. Why? I don't want to lose credibility amongst friends and associates. You might enjoy this game how it is, I do not. I see what it could be (something awesome), though, it is FAR from that vision. Dust has a log way to go and I am going to make sure that CCP knows it.

It was mostly aimed at countering Shinyside, who said we should express mostly positive feedbaxk (talking good things about the game) instead of game improving feedback (pointing out flaws). So that we can course people into playing this game. I say no, most of those people will leave the game almost immediately, one less customer/player.

I think this sting should have stayed Alpha, WAY longer, closed Beta WAY longer and should STILL be in Open Beta. This maybe F2P but at the end of the day, they want me to spend money, they first have to prove that this game is worth it.

Heck, I was one of the few people that backed CCP up tge first week of Uprising. I made a thread telling people to give it AT LEAST a week. Well, a couple did; we don't get along too well now. We should not just pretend that things are peachy and that we just need a 'little bolt tightening'.

I don't know about you, but here is how I tend to ask for fixes to the game.

GÇó1st I give them a little time to figure out obvious stuff.

GÇó2nd I give a respectful, long, detailed, well reasoned post (that get's ignored for being 'TL;DR'.

GÇó3nd I wait a week or two, make a similar thread, or revise and revive the old thread.

GÇó4th 2 months later and same crap is going on... I am pissed, I am no monk, my patience has a limit.

Respect, you got to earn it. A lot of people (myself included) just gave it to CCP without making them earn it, our bad. Now, we are starting to let our respect for them 'slip'.
