Graphics look pretty, but its not a very good game to compare too. The game is totally different premise. Its a bit like comparing F1 2013 to Grand Theft Auto - they both have cars, but that doesn't make them direct competitor games. Lol yea comparing the tripe that is dust to destiny is absurd.
Man tripe is really good (seriously give it a try if you got some balls) but Destiny hasn't even come out yet and we have crowned it king of games. Of course it will be pretty but everyone is basing everything off what little has been seen. I think you give the highlights of Dust to someone and then brought Destiny up you you would think Dust had an edge being a harsher world coming from Eve.

Destiny looks so stunning, and most important, it does not look like a god damn beta.
IGÇÖm very sure that CCP can make Dust shine like they did in EVE, but IGÇÖm not going to wait for this a couple of years. I mean, just look at this crap right now, itGÇÖs released, we have like 7 Maps, not all drop suits, uncountable amount of bugs, and broken mechanic, hell(!), and we donGÇÖt even have ANY kind of pve right now. I just wish, I havened spend money on this game as it is right now.

I want both. With my corp PVP and with my friends PVE.
And be PVE I mean something useful. Getting gear, SP/XP, money, something, a damn reward. And PVE should be instant, and not searching and looking and waiting, no! I donGÇÖt want to play a mmorpg but I like the idea of GÇ£instant dungeonGÇ¥. You shoot your way till some heavy bosses, get some loot, get some money and the feeling of accomplishing something.

I'll take the wait and see approach and wait 'n see how DUST changes and how Destiny actually plays before proclaiming DUST doomed or not.
Also I seem to remember people saying DUST was dead when Defiance was coming out as well. |

I don't see any other game beside the "new" cod game being a smashing hit and then it will kill on current console not next gen. The install base with be small for a while and numbers will be low. Also when DUST hits the PS4 we will have the same numbers because it will be multiplatform. We're just fanboys so it doesn't matter. |

looked like borderlands to me...borderlands =sandboxie game ..easy as cake yawns boring. hmm no i dont think destiny alone will notshut dust down...also if they devs really got they're jump on dust still hasa chance to make it big. but if they dont get they're jump on then they will watch as they're playbase flocks to new games in mass groups as they come out. this game only is only even remotely appealing because i love grinding games. if its not set right by dark souls 2 im out....my playtime will definitely lessen when i start playing ffxiv beta. |

also if defiance hadnt been so freaking terrible ..dust would have already died the first mmo fps that makes a huge hit on the gaming world will shut down dust and defiance both in the state they are in |

Yeah but looking at Destiny it seems kind of shallow, a decent mix of MMO and FPS but pandering to FPSer "cant be ****** understanding this" logic.
Exo, Awoken, Human? These races have no depth like they do in Dust, Mass Effect, etc.
Three classes? Okay sounds kind of shallow though.
It's a shame FPSers don't give a crap about how much effort goes into history and lore generation, or to the value of player created content.
I mean how many other games can boast a Great Northern War, or Kane's War with STB, or the CRONOS vs EoN donutting that took place. I people had spent more time appreciating what was actually happening rather than epeen waggling and bitching here on the forums those wars could have been immortalised in EVE's history.
Its a real shame they weren't. |

Destiny won't be killing off Dust. Instead it will be killing off halfassed games like Firefall, Defiance, Earthrise and the like.
Dust on the other hand would more likely meet it's fate at the hands of a Planetside2 or Ubisoft's "The Division" or even EA's Titanfall
Games like Dust514 will need a steady stream of new players giving the game a curious once over, and will need to hold onto a certain fraction of those players long enough to milk them for a bit of cash, in order to remain viable for CCP. Once the core playerbase gets leveled enough, they will for the most part stop putting revenue into the game.
So, once games appear that put a full stop to that stream of curious/interested new players, Dust would begin to experience true concequences to sparse content, ridiculous grind, shoddy mechanics, massive imbalance and the like. |

I think the shooter community will quickly discover that it's quite difficult to SERIOUSLY play more than one MMOshooter at once. Try as you might... you're only one person, and a REAL shooter MMO will require quite a bit of grind and mechanics familiarization. Good luck approaching the situation like it's COD vs BF, that will turn out well for you. |

Yea am certainly no worried about Dusts fate, as far as my enjoyment with the game goes. Played Eve for many years and I both love and hate the game in equal measure, CCP may act like ass clowns and keep us in the dark but they like to spend a lot of time laying down rock concrete foundations designed to stand the test of time.
WoW came and went, widely hailed as the king of MMOs whilst EvE keep plugging away on its single shard persistant universe. See that's the hook they get you with, subtle psychological manipulation of addiction. All your **** in one place and a trickle of SP your too greedy to give up, keeps you with em, keeps you playing even interested when you hate it. Also has the hard core sci fi fan base, the player that fancies himself more intelligent than what he is hmmmm smart these CCP are.
Destiny will land with massive fan fare and do extremely well, make millions hit 9/10 reviews. In 3 years it will be dead and we will be using new tools to help us merc across the universe, all the while barely noticing Destiny even existed. |
