This mode looks awesome. It's just sad to see how these guys can implement so many great gameplay mechanics in such a low amount of time while CCP will takes decades to implement such things. I guess many of us will migrate to BF4 till CCP releases the next build in a year.

So, to be straight, you are claiming that a feature for a game that was in a trailer that hasn't been released yet counts as "beating" a feature that is slated to be included with no time table for another game?
Until a feature makes it to a live game, then it doesn't "beat" any other feature that currently isn't in a live game. After all, we still don't have the ability to go to the Minmatar bar that had a full 10 minute "live" demo on EVE.

I'll give you #3, 100% agreed.
#2 Is CCP really that small? DICE isn't that big you know...
#1 Frostbite seems like a very complicated engine, while CCP had to use Unreal which many games use it because it's easier to develop...

As of 2012, DICE has 323 employees.
As of 2008, CCP has 600, this was before they "trimmed down" though, like their now-significantly-smaller division that is working on the World of Darkness MMO |

3. They have been using the frostbite engine since the first bf. If they can't utilize their own engine which they've been using for years then they are horrible game devs. |

1. I thought Unreal Engine 3 was supposed to be SOOOOO easy to develop on? Apparently not for CCP. 2. They have been working on it for half as long as CCP has worked on DUST, if not more. 3. Ummmm.... updated engine, commander mode, and other features... yet CCP can't seem to release that many maps and updated iterations for as long as they have been working on it.

This just in:
CCP implements summonable assets faster than Blizzard Jagex implements a wide array of mini-games faster than Bioware. Bioware implements item modifications faster than Jagex. Adventurine implements full loot drop PVP faster than Turbine. Starvault implements mounted archery faster than NCsoft. OneTooFreeAB implements terraforming before EVERYONE.
Ok. So a new game came out with a cool feature. CCP may want to consider this but it isn't some failing on their part like you seem to think. Stop acting like a spoiled brat. |

Moar excuses plz These aren't excuses but I will continue
1. It's easier. Way easy does not equal easier. It's still hard especially when your doing the physics of the gameplay. Also it's not the most optimized engine either which hurts performance 2. They've been working on the same engine (Also CREATED the engine) for 4 years. If they can't work very good on their own engine then they are the biggest morons on the face of the Earth 3. Updated engine means they improved upon the physics, graphics, and fixed bugs. CCP does this every few months with a lot less staff. Commander mode: Your point is? I believe they've actually had something like this in one of their other games. I read somewhere they were making a map a month but something happened. I will try to find the post if you want. |

....Because we like our lists X)
1. Frostbite has been a decade of compounding effort for the same genre, by the same studio. Unreal 3 is a very simple engine to work with, but CCP and Ex-Midway folks at the old Newcastle, UK have essentially used 98% of the U3 and...leaving the most challenging and difficult work with that remaining 2% for Midway. That 2% is essentially everything Dust 514 and the IP and is by far not an easy task whatsoever to work with.
2. I do believe the studio is smaller...but it is also fully dedicated to 1 game. That's 300+ developers lobbed onto 1 game, which is not particularly that far off from any of their previous games...in the past 10 years....wheras CCP is a private company divided on 3 individiual projects (possibly more) and already maintaining a infinitely complex and touchy MMO as their primary source of revenue.

I am pretty sure its closer to 200 employees but then again most companies don't release those numbers, business you know.

To be fair, Commander Mode is actually the first thing CCP ever created to our knowledge. It goes back to 2009 actually...however they have chosen other focuses and decided for the gradual release plan after Incarna hit on Eve Online. |

Right? I swear one of the first things I read on this forum was this so called Commander that could fly MCCs and summon installations and w/e.

Hardly DICE has perfected a fraction of what ccp is trying to do on much more powerful hardware. Frankly ccp is wasting moste of the time and energy trying to fit a extremely bloated engine on haed ware that hasn't been able to cut it for years. There is a reason sony released planet side 2 on pc instead of their own game system. |

Dice has years and years of experience developing FPS games while CCP has little to no experience. The usage of Unreal engine makes me think that a lot of these codes should be pre packaged in a way so they can be implented quick though since the game engine has been around for so long and has evolved over the years. Just give CCP some time to find their own NICHE in the fps world. Dice did a great job with BF2, before that they had battlefield vietname and 1942. It took years, almost a decade now to get them where they are now. So stop putting an excuse on why CCP has not gotten it down yet. If CCP does not give up they will make an amazing game that will continue to evolve and grow with another amazing and very successful game, EVE. So give it a rest.

Yes but when you have more staff then you can have more people in teams trying to overcome certain obstacles instead of having a few designers that do a lot of the work themselves. |
