Is there a bug on the player count thing? Almost 5K? Wow, thought this game was doing better on launch day. Seriously it's player count is less than DCUO's.
I wonder why...
- Lack of Developer Communication?
- Lack on non-broken gameplay?
-Making the game feel like a job?
-Lack of balance for a VERY long time?
-Lack of a good training mode?
Any of these, anyone have any other reasons?
(And please, don't come out with the "It's Monday" excuse, all American schools hit summer break last week, so if nothing else, I would expect 6k minors playing a GOOD game, If this were one.) |

What's even worse are the 5-6k left that really believe and deny that the player count isn't dropping.
Like, Really? Almost breaking 10k players daily to hitting 6k max on weekends is hard not to notice.... |

That doesn't surprise me. They have to feel like they didn't waste their money I guess. Except they did. They'll have the super special gear, in a game with like 10 players. |

Really? Do you think so? I thought people would forget about the game, see it again, try it again, then vomit and quit in disgust. |

Do people not realize the new game starts off at say 100% capacity but after the first week it drops dramatically to around 75% or less and continues to drop until it gets to around 30-50% and stays there for a long while until people slowly leave. My numbers aren't accurate but in the ps3 market don't expect the player count numbers to rise unless word spreads that the game is amazing but I've never seen that in any game. If the game doesn't work people quit and don't come back. |

Not trying to discount the low number but it is Summer. I know id rather be outside right now than playing the game, a lot of games lose numbers during the season.
Vacations for us adults plus the fact our dang kids are home not giving us any privacy and kids having camp and summer school all add into this fact.
Plus it is a Monday in the middle of the day...it will pick up tonight some.
But yes the game needs some vast improvements. |

I seriously doubt that ccp has this kind of businesses plan in mind .
If it is then yes u are right dust is total fubar .
But its not .
I think that they want to start small and work out the kinks and bugs and slowly build there player base after each free upgrade .

I hear you there, but what are they going to do about the 2000-3000 fanatics who stick with it and have the ability to break out proto vehicles and multiple weapons to stomp the **** out of all the new players they bring in?
They will have to offer some free Merc packs and lots of additional SP along with a vibrant turorial system to retain new players.
They might be better off resetting everyone once they get the game presentable. They'd lose a lot of vets, but I'm not sure there's many FPS guys that want to take a drubbing for 4 months before they can compete. |

Funny how me trying different gameplay with multipple alts don't have THAT much issues with playing against high SP players. Is it because some players are too comforted into handholding?

There is quite a few who do not like the gap of sp and the time for grinding, so are taking the passive course for a few months in the hopes that something changes and they can at least come back with a few mil sp gained over time. To be honest, if I had not invested so much already in the game I would not be here right now either and doing the same thing. I'm glad that I took a break after the last character reset, otherwise I would be sitting on 15+ mil sp and getting pretty bored with the game fast. Right now i'm still sitting at the point where some matches can be a challenge yet fun ( 6 mil sp ). CCP needs to make some changes fast, half the numbers that do show as logged in are as a few pointed out.. just people not wanting to feel like they made a bad investment

5k again? Holy Moses, move over WoW! I used money on this game and I accept it's a rolling turd. It's like a beautiful model with a big hairy mole on it's a$$. This game has caused me to not turn the PS3 back on in days and it's caused me to not have any desire to use an XB One or a PS4. Well Okay, that's part of the reason the rest is the Orwellian nature of the new boxes. It's been about eight years but I believe I'll be going back to a PC. |

The negativity reinforces itself because all the people who burst with negativity support each other's preconceived notions by doing so. Just notice how there's a rather small number of tropes that's beeing repeated ad nauseam by mostly the same people every day.

What you play 5 or 10 matches a week on your 2 million SP alt?
oooooh.
Well if we are going to delve into anecdotal evidence lets talk about all the contacts i made in the fist month of play who do not play now...and how they all complained that they were sick of getting face stomped. Or lets look at all the players who have joined my corp (we have a pretty open recruitment policy) in the past month who all seem to leave and all express frustration of getting face stomped. I also know i only have spent only 2.3 million SP on my main and 1 million SP on my alt and i cap on both each week (about 80 matches) and i know the biggest frustration i have is when i know i beat someone (i hit them first i hit them more, cause more damage and take less damage) yet i loose the duel because they are being carried and i am not. |

Further idiot. Most kids/minors don't bother with voicing their opinions 'cept on the new social media stuff, if even that. This game is mainly spoken about by the people that want to see it thrive, and are feeling more ass sore that they even bothered with it from all of the support and information CCP decides to deliver to us. Do you know more about what's been going on? hm? hm? If so, please share with the 5% under 18 peeps on here as well as the rest of the community. K thanks. |

/me thinks all of your recent "save the noobie" postings are just selfish wants to make the game easier for yourself.
I came back at uprising launch with barely any SP, am outclassed by a lot, but have found a way to adapt and thoroughly enjoy blowing up others proto suits. It's not impossible or hard if they are bad players. However, there are people that have been playing for 6 months and their skill level + sp makes them very hard to overtake... that's life though... this game isnt for everyone the sooner people start to accept that and move on the quicker the forums become less crowded.
This game will cater to people that want meaningful experiences, choices that have consequences, and not to the people that want to be the omg i should has won that duel but he is (insert e-peen saving excuse)....
I'm sure you've heard this a few times, HTFU. Dust/EVE arent for the faint of heart. It's ok if it's not for you, Dust will never have the same numbers as CoD/Bf4, but it will establish its niche and have very strong loyalists. The game will do fine. |

I wonder why...
- Lack of Developer Communication?
- Lack on non-broken gameplay?
-Making the game feel like a job?
-Lack of balance for a VERY long time?
-Lack of a good training mode?
Any of these, anyone have any other reasons?
(And please, don't come out with the "It's Monday" excuse, all American schools hit summer break last week, so if nothing else, I would expect 6k minors playing a GOOD game, If this were one.) The low numbers can be attributed one reason; that the SP/leveling system allows carried old players to stomp on new players. No one wants to play a game like that so they try it out and they leave. Funny how me trying different gameplay with multipple alts don't have THAT much issues with playing against high SP players. Is it because some players are too comforted into handholding? ^Thanks oh-so-valiant gamer that will help to fund/keep this game around. Life's tough? Get some tissues. A game that blows off it's clientele won't survive long enough for you to 'enjoy' it. I'd like to see you single-handedly pay for this game to last more than 6 months down the road. So much for the seven year plan they mapped out.... Tsk tsk. |

Honestly, this. This game isn't good by any stretch. My skill has nothing to do with it, I can pull the trigger as much as I want and the fully fitted proto suit won't go down. No one wants to stick around for that. People will just leave. If you honestly think it will keep a niche well...I guess the same 12 people, playing the same boring game modes, with the same broken gameplay, and the same disappointing PC is considered niche.

Oh I understand....I even find myself on less and less now. Like I said, I can't speak for other people but I do see a lot of the same players...m |
