Hey
Latest :
Dust 514 has been officially released for less than a month now, but the Shanghai-based team responsible for it is already in active development on new gameplay modes that should be available "very soon."
In its current iteration, Dust 514 is a competitive, player-vs.-player, deathmatch-based affair. However, CCP Shanghai are working on cooperative, player-vs.-environment modes that they hope will encourage corporation-level play: "Survival" is a wave-based Horde mode, and "Infestation" will involve scouring any enemies trying to establish a toehold in corporation-controlled districts.
In both modes, groups of players will fight against drones, the so-called "rats" or "mobs" of Dust 514, to gather money and other resources. The idea is that these PvE modes will give players and corps new entry points into the robust in-game economy that ties Dust 514 and EVE Online together.

Interesting. Say what they will about PvE, this might actually be a good tool for corps to help train their squads and otherwise build/improve team cohesion. |

My prediction is Very soon = after the PS4 is released and after Planet side 2 is available for free on the PS4. to little to late.
Also what the hell i do not want a wave based game mode that does not end until i die. Lame. I want to win not lose...and i especially do not want to always lose by design to friggin NPCs And it looks like the infestation mode is only available for people who own districts...oh fun i get to grind in PvP until i have finally gotten enough SP to take a district and i do take a district i get to grind at PvE. grinding in PvP so we can earn the right to grind in PvE....BRILLIANT

Also i am offended by CCP's misuse of the term Survival.
Minecraft is survival game play
Dayz is survival game play.
You know compelling game platy in a complex open world with hazards that you must conquer using a verity of tools that you can master and even invent new, even undesigned by the developer, methods in their use.
Wave after wave after wave of ever building enemies until you die is f*cking Galaga not survival!!!
CCP and their crap game has not even gotten within a light year of earning the right to even use the word survival. |

Very soon can mean over a year, doesn't get my hopes up in the least. Last time I was promised PVE was Fanfest 2012, and they said it would come that year (2012), yet PVE wasn't even mentioned as one of their near future (6-12 month) goals in the "advancing the core" presentation from this year's Fanfest in which they discussed their goals and time frames. |

It would be good to have it in the next month or so. Or at least a press release about what it will be and what mechanics it will involve outside of the actual game. Will we get salvage on a better level, will we get research, will we get manufacturing with PvE games affecting how quickly our products are produced?
Will we get a market to support this? I mean a player made market wouldn't be that bad at all would it? |

PVE will probably be unusual.
Because drones probably won't behave the same as players, we'll see a wider variety of everything, and, unfortunately for me, stealth tactics won't be as effective. |

Yet they felt it ok to make a promotional video showing drone PvE as if it's somehow anything other than a pipedream.
If we see it at any point in 2013 I will be thoroughly surprised.

Ok, again, some ppl have never played EVE. In EVE, almost all the exploration sites such as DED complexes, Anomalies, and some missions have "waves" of enemies come out until at the end wave, is the strongest and sometimes contains a Faction rat in which has nice loot or bad loot. Either way, still ends. Now the "infestation" mode is kinda like "belt ratting", killing rats in asteroid/ice belts. Go around finding "rats" in the districts, kill them, get loot/bounty. Now in the belts also will spawn a Faction and Officers. Officers, ofc, have the BEST loot and are hard to kill, for the unprepared that is. Find a Officer in the district, faction space pending with it's random, faction-based loot, kill them and get its awesome loot.
Kind of what the 2 game modes remind me of EVE wise... |

Only really seen them get a kill when the other person was distracted, standing still, or running directly towards it. Unfortunately, they seem to be useless against targets moving slightly in any other direction.
Seriously, try slowly strafing towards one, the thing can't hit you! (Yes, I've tried this against all 3 kinds of installation, same result.) |

I thought this game review news was just a piece of advertisement for Dust. I think they had to do it after IGN bit CCP's head off in their honest review of Dust. So now CCP has get all that appologetic promotional stuff out: "oh look we are additing more cool and exciting stuff SOON(tm)". Let me ask you this if it's cool and exciting and we are just a few weeks out from release, why was it not added during release? I will tell you why: it's probably not ready and if they roll it out it will be half baked the way everything else has been.
In the mean time no one is working to address the core issues. CCP would rather work on promotional glitter. |

exactly those trailers are all that have got me excited about Dust, sometimes I have to watch the battle for Caldari Prime trailer before I play Dust so I don't tell myself "Whats the point its no different than last time, nothings changed at all"

"Very soon". I hope sp. not the "we say very soon but it's still 3 months away and you'll only get a part of it".
Having said that, the new modes do sound super interesting. I just hope we have them soon. Like, 5 minutes from now. Not unrealistic, right? |

PvE needs to come soon. This game is in desperate need of something other than RUN HERE HACK THIS RINSE AND REPEAT. |

"Hey guys we got rogue drones in our district" "alright everyone get your laser rifles, don't want to have too big of an advantage over those drones. Its unsportsmanlike." "are plasma cannons allowed?" "okay but only if you use militia plasma cannons" I don't think so Vehicle drones will crush and suicide ram everyone (RDVs) The guns on drones will be ridiculously accurate- look at the installation turret AI
Correct especially the railgun installation when it see you and you don't get to cover it will kill you |

If the PVP was actually intresting and not nauseatingly frusturating to play, I would say yes to PVE. But all PVE would be is the same bad shooting mechanics but with ******** AI. Even MORE of a grind.
My problem with DUST is that the controls and shooting mechanics are just plain not fun, and the game modes are bland, and don't have any really unique gameplay mechanics. Just circle around and hunt for someone to attempt to wrestle your controls into shooting. |

I love the PVE, but I also saw ''gladiator'' and 'Penetration', those 2 game modes look amazing! |
