Why would you shame people for employing one of the few ways to enjoy this broken game?

I don't even play, so I feel more on the side of the MCC afk'ers. Maybe if the game was worthwhile and fun to play we wouldn't have people spending time in the MCC...

If the game is boring, why be on it at all? Why not play something more interesting? You are screwing up other player's games with your presence and lack of contribution. If you don't want to play, get out, or get shamed.

Stop afk'ers? No, no intention of stopping them, and if friendly fire was enabled, I'd be shooting them. We're going to lose the match anyway, might as well get it done quickly, right? No, my intention is merely to shame.

Agree with this to a degree, but I'm talking about setting up tools that are both within the spirit of New Eden, and also suitable for an FPS. Players messing up a match are essentially in breach of the "contract" they are under for the match, to whatever NPC corp has "hired" them for the job. In this case, if players are afk for a period, with FF enabled, they could be considered as assisting the enemy by refusing to fight, in which case they BECOME the enemy. Perhaps some way of sending them to the other team should be implemented if they are detected as afk for too long, or to a third 'team' of afk'ers that can be shot legally by everyone and anyone.

IF I encounter them as I'm playing. And if there is no team, then what's the point? As far as I'm concerned, afk'ers are ruining the game for people who do enjoy it, and don't find it boring at all. If you don't like it, don't play it. Go back to COD.

While I am sure it isn't the case, I'm gonna give AFK'ers an excuse.

Perhaps they are Roleplaying. Perhaps, they were hired by a corp to take a district from another corp. Since there are currently no mechanics in place to facilitate this, they afk, so as to gimp their team and cause a potential lose.

Since they can't be paid by the other corp for causing a loss, they RP that the ISK they receive at the end of the match is indeed from the opposing corp. Let's also say that any salvage and SP that they got after the match was a bonus for a job well done.

Purely BS on my part even saying that, however, the point is, it doesn't matter what other players are doing or not doing. You should be playing to have fun, not monitoring the actions of other players. If you want the role of monitoring other players, then perhaps you should apply to work at CCP.

AFK'ing has always been a part of New Eden. Whether players like it or not, it is what it is. Why must you be the 1 millionth person to start a thread about it? You are acting as though CCP hasn't read this crap before or witnessed it for themselves. Perhaps there is already something in the plans to fix it, but they aren't saying anything until it is closer to being ready to deploy. Perhaps CCP has no interest in stopping it because, for the most part they have always allowed players to play their games the way the player wants too.

In either case, there is nothing you can do to stop it and more threads complaining about it won't change anything until CCP chooses to change it. In the meantime, just play the game to have fun. Calling out these players isn't going to make a difference to anyone, most of us already know who these players are, so making a list, or video, or whatever else, isn't going to change anything. We can't kick them from the team, so what good is knowing them in the first place? It is at best a wasted effort that is fueled by some sort of internal rage you have going on. You've been trolled by afk'ers and they are laughing at you.

Games are meant to be played. If you don't like it, don't play it. Play something else.

You just contradicted yourself... Clearly Games are meant to be played, you over hear making videos of ingame characters being theoretically not controlled by the person because he or she is Literally AFK, AFK'ing. So play the game. Reason I say you are on the list is because In Chromosome build it started, a **** ton of people B-itched about others AFK'ing in the MCC.
My advice stop crying over it, stop waisting your time with making videos, play the game... Problem solved...

For now, I'm not the one causing a problem with the game. I would enjoy the game more if it weren't for the afk'ers. I like the game, whether I win or lose. That's why I play it. If you're only playing it to afk, I would suggest you have bigger problems than just being bored with this one game. Especially if you have options to play something else.

AFK gets you plenty of the only two that matter. Lol

Nah, this is just what's wrong with today's so-called 'gamers'. I remember when the closest thing to online gaming was a LAN party. We had an internet cafe that would host them every weekend, BYOPC. If you got caught cheating/boosting/afk'ing (in some cases)/scripting/botting etc, your PC was taken outside and smashed on the concrete footpath. You were not compensated.

The problem, that is, is people who are playing for the SP/ISK/WP as if it means something. Does anyone ever play for competition or fun anymore? No, not really, games are all about how much fake stuff you can acquire with as little effort as possible.

You're not earning anything by afk'ing your rewards, you're not even earning the tears. The tears are cool, granted, but you're not doing anything to get them. The best tears are the ones you ring from your opponents with fists clenched, with some kind of effort. Rewards mean nothing without the effort, but when they're all pixels, at the end of the day, the mean nothing with the effort, as well, so it still all comes down to how much fun or competition you're getting out of the game.

What confuses me is, if you're getting neither, why are you wasting your time being on it at all?

Wrong. I'm playing the game, and recording AFK players as I spawn, then going straight out to fight. Problem isn't solved until afk'ers either don't exist, are penalised, or players are given the tools by which to deal with them.
