Wish people would read the entire thread and stop cherry picking and making it all about that.
Paid for Respecs are bad. Once you hit 20 Mil SP you won't need anymore SP just real money.
However, if OP did not get the optional Respec that the rest of us requested and received then someone at CCP needs to tell him what is going on.
I have already read one thread where a Dev stated that a player should have received the Respec a week or 2 ago but didn't and they do not know why. So the Respecs are not going according to plan and just waiting isn't good enough as CCP schedule shows some players should have already received it but didn't and the player has no clue this has happened as CCP doesn't realise they did not process the Respec as scheduled.
At this point I am not even sure CCP knows who still requires a Respec and who has already received one without checking each players records on a case by case basis. |

Personally I think some sort of respec would be a good idea to help the game's meta to evolve at a faster reactive rate. However I think it should be limited by some combination of increasing cost per use, a timer similar to character termination and/or a limit on how many can be done per week. |

It's been almost a month since I've filed it and the only information I got after filing a ticket was that the DDoS attacks delayed mine. Maybe when I finally get mine they won't mess it up |

So I heard (haven't confirmed yet) that guys who got missed in the first wave of respecs are getting with the 1.2 update. Seems fair you know they will have millions of sp to drop on new and racial variant stuff while everyone else will have to grind to get it. Just saying. |

Jin, I hope that one day whatever you're using gets nerfed to the ground or suffers from a sever bug one day. I want to see how your "HTFU, Adapt or Die, New Eden, blah, blah, blah..." mantra will save you then. Not having respecs works in EVE Online because they actually have content and things are balanced, Dust 514 might as well still be in beta with the laughable balance and lack of content. Seriously, it's been a year and we only have 1 heavy suit with 2 heavy weapons which forces the devs to scale down that class to the standards of smaller frame suits and light weapons. |

Not that economy.
I'm talking about the New Eden economy. You know, the one that we will merge into in the coming months or maybe next year. Respecs have a negative effect on the New Eden economy.
They create too much market shock as market traders won't have a clue on what suit or module to profit from or predict trends on. This alone can have a cascade effect that can hurt the player driven market. |

By that same rationale balance changes, updates, patches etc are also bad for the proposed future economy. All it would do is allow players to profit from popular items and/or resources for a longer period of time while the playerbase adjusted and skilled toward the next big thing or balance changes, updates, patches etc changed the meta. Ability to respec would just need to be factored in as dominate strategies were formed and countered. Not having respecs just simplifies the system allowing market traders to be less informed and still turn a profit from slow skill tree progression.
It's honestly likely that CCP just doesn't want to deal with changes to infomation stored server side. |

They lied, they sent me message "in five days" and i waited for month now. I sent message about respec log time before 31st. Long time before DDoS. They lied about five days, i sent another message and they told me it will be really soon, nothing again, then i sent another one and they "appreciated my concesn". WTH is this for answer?! Just playing with words and lies, thats end of story. |

How long has Eve been doing just fine with it's 10 year head start? It's also got people who are pouring massive amounts of whatever currency their country spends into it. People tend to be less apt to put something down if they've made an investment in it. However this is Dust, not Eve. While Eve and Dust exist in the same universe, they are not the same game, and they are not subject to "What works in Eve, therefore must work in Dust". The playerbase is different, the gameplay style is different. Players seriously need to stop hiding behind Eve as a shield from criticisms about Dust. |
