Now that BSOTT's Lab Rat division is nice and established, we're ready to accept requests for testing.
So if you have an idea for a fitting, and/or a different way to use that fitting, please post this here. An example of a suggestion would be to have 2 logi LAVs with light armor reps constantly repairing each other.
If we've already tried what you've suggested, I'll look at our library and give you a summary of how it worked out. If it's something we haven't tried before, we'll put it on the "to do" list (give it time); after it's finished, we'll give you our full article on the results, in thanks for your idea expanding our library.
Anyway, we're bored.... |

Alright I've got something you to test out regarding the use of active scanners. Is the information relayed to just your squad, or can the whole team see it? You'll need to test this with both the infantry handheld scanner, and the scanner equipable on vehicles.
Thanks if you can be of assistance. |

Unless my team is always super oblivious to the radar I suspected it was squad only, although were you able to test it while talking to a team-member who isn't in your squad? The easiest way to do this would be to all join a game together in the same squad, then one of the people you're with needs to drop out of the squad. You could just communicate via a user channel or team chat.
For further testing, you could try using the scanner while not in a squad at all, to see if it makes any difference to others who both are and aren't in a squad. Personally, I'm mainly interested in the vehicle scanner module. I've been using it on LAVs recently and it's so useful, my radar just turns into a sea of red. |

Saw your post on the other forum about dual flaylock testing, thanks very interesting
But when you say that Mass driver will do the job, does a massdriver have some much advantagE over dual flaylocks ?
Flaylocks seems are less accurate at great distance than mass driver seems, i'm correct ?
Having mass driver allow you to havE a second different weapon making you more verstile truely
but some nice advantages i see
-Flaylock skills can be optimisez faster (less SP required) and furthemore not 2 weapons to train (ok going 100% the flaylock way is perhaps a little bit too much....)
-dual flaylock = much more ammo overall than a mass driver
-it free up lot of CPU / PG (it seems) then you can tank more or be better on something specific
-the little noise of flaylock is less threatening than a the one of a mass driver than making you less a prioritary target a target (ok i can be wrong on this one)
-surprise effect after shooting you 3 round i think ppl will think 'Ok now he have emptied his secondary weapon, and as it mean probably that is main weapons is unloaded too or of no use against infantry, it's time to leave cover and attack" POFF POFF POFF 3 new round in the face :) |

Side effect I forgot to mention- nanohives restock the ammo very quickly (since it restocks both weapons each tick)- however, this is also bad because it consumes the nanohive much faster than otherwise.

The article on flaylocks was updated with the little bit of info I got from Bonney.
He said that you should use them from an elevated position, and go for direct hits- just like with mass drivers. |
