In addition to this, we have a stupid number of bugs and glaring issues. All of these problems, ALL of them, could have been spotted a mile away if we had a test server. It took all of 10 minutes for good players to realise that the TAR was by far the best weapon, and that the Caldari Logistics was the best dropsuit. That could have been fixed before Uprising proper had even hit the main game! We wouldn't have half a dozen useless weapons or horribly OP weapons and suits had we been able to test Uprising before launch. Perhaps the premature release on 5/14 wouldn't have been such a fiasco, and reviving people would actually work properly. This does, of course, rely on CCP listening to the community, but implementing a test server would be a promising step in showing that they do.

Lack of a test server is what earned Dust514 a 54 on metacritic. This build was clearly not tested properly under actual internet lag as a direct example.

They knew they had bugs it's they same bugs they had before in the early hacked together builds that they had to fix. A test server doesn't stop time or fix stupid. I'd rather they put in to their budget for extra staff to do the actual captain obvious bugfixes then to run a useless test server so we can tell them what they already know.

I have a feeling CCP Shanghai are constantly behind schedule and have allocated most (all?) of their resources into catching up (or trying to) rather than planning ahead. They'd also need to be able to distribute testing builds to us. I doubt it's possible to skip the lengthy Q&A process Sony apparently insists on before anything is allowed on PSN. I could be wrong on both counts however. Actually, I hope I am since a test server would be kinda nice.
