Gallente have an advanced energy resource that allows for superior energy efficiency (because we are master race) so that's why Gallente suits don't have backpacks. as to where our weapons go when holstered, shrugs.

On backpacks, yeah, i did always wonder about that thing. i assumed it was actually the control center that powers the CPU and PG or something, which is why the gallente scout had such a small one.
