Just wondering, I have the XPs for it, but I could spend it in a better way.
Just wondering if anyone got those Lvl 5 Proto Dropsuit, and is it worth the XPs.

They are not worth it if you don't have similar level modules to fill up the slots in the suit. |

if you want to do Planetary Conquest, it helps to be able to bring out the 100,000+ ISK fits. saving the millions of SP required to get from lvl 3 to lvl 5 might be tough to wait for. i'd go for it now if you can.
i usually run around in 40k-50K advanced fits and have a 20K fit i can drop down to if a match gets too expensive.
i save the 100+K proto fits for when i really need to bring my A game. |

In EVE, there is an adage that everyone knows. It's "Don't fly what you can't afford". In dust, it probably isn't quite as bold a statement, but if you are just getting into SP/ISK level of putting on a proto fit (modules and all) you might want to make sure it doesn't break your bank, first.
Otherwise, more slots for more awesome do tend to help. |

Not worth it for heavies you get 1 low slot for 2-3 times the price. For logis its amazing going from 5 to 9, caldari that is. |

I went with the gallente assault racial (again). I really like the 5% CPU saved per level on hybrids, which include ARs. I prefer the armor, but it also has decent shields. You save 23 CPU on a duvolles fitting when you are lvl 5 racial gallente.
In my highs I have all shield extenders, my lows are armor and reppers. Almost all complex, although I run a sh*tty sidearm and crap grenades to save CPU and pg for my complex reppers, and a compact nano.
No damage mods, I usually run a krins or balacs in the cqc maps and the tac at (of course) in the open maps.
I save my proto suits for PCBs because they are 180 k! The advanced racial suit is great too though, I love being able to squeeze 600 total hp on there with a glu or gek for about 50k.
Lately though I have just been running a type 1 bpo and I can get about 500 hit points on a 20 k suit, works great in pubs!
I did only get my gallente medium up to 3 so I could access the racial variant. The downside to this is I have 100 basic proto suits that I won't be able to use :/
TL;DR:
Worth it, but not at the expense of shortchanging your core skills. If you don't have complex modules on a proto suit, you are doing it wrong. |

If you get stomped several times a match I highly suggest no. If you can stomp really good right now then sure go for it. |
